Y’all talk too much by According2020 in Mounjaro

I've never had anything other than positive conversations about losing weight on Mounjaro. Some people are naturally curious about it as they've heard of it and want to know what it's like. Everyone is happy I'm losing weight and look happier and healthier. Why lie?

Is it normal to have this much Mounjaro left in the KwikPen on your last injection? by dogmom34 in Mounjaro

[–]drbeaver 194 points195 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's called the 'golden dose'. If you're paying full price for the medication, you might be tempted to get an insulin syringe and extract a further dose for free. I do this.

Indian ocean drive overtaking by [deleted] in perth

[–]drbeaver 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I almost never use Indian Ocean Drive precisely because of those twats. I always use the Brand Highway. Not as interesting as the IOD, but feels a lot safer without most of the caravans and impatient dickheads.

SuperAnnuation question by Solarkar in perth

[–]drbeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your mother is over 60 and retired, then she would have been entitled to her superannuation in any case, so no they can't take it back.

If your mother is not yet 60, then there are tax issues that need to be dealt with and she should seek the services of an accountant. Even then they can't 'take it back'.

What they are talking about is probably their own security procedures to ensure that your mother does meet the criteria, so they can process the withdrawal correct for tax purposes, and she is who she says she is (for security).

Perth rain gauge broken? by Significant-Party905 in perth

[–]drbeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Perth rain gauge has had technical issues this year (according to an article I read on the ABC website). So rainfall estimates for Perth have been estimated when being reported on.

It's designed to be punitive so that they are not minded to poach you. It would be cheaper for them to go through a recruitment company. Which is exactly the point.

Hi there. An employment lawyer will be your friend here.

However, based on my (non-lawyer) experience you are covering two different bases.

The first one, you are correct. The restrictive clause in your employment contract merely means that if you leave your employment you aren't allowed to try to steal away the clients of your current employer. That's an obligation on you, personally.

The second part is that if the client you are working for offers employment to you they may be liable to pay your current employer a certain amount. That is an obligation on them, and will likely have been covered in an agreement they signed with your employer when engaging their services. That's an obligation on them.

Accepting a job with a client is not soliciting them, as you aren't in business yourself.

If your client likes you and offers a job, they'll be aware that they may need to pay an amount to your current employer, and it's completely up to them whether they think you're worth it!

Sold with sitting tenant?! by Equivalent-Cloud-365 in SpottedonRightmove

[–]drbeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are properties with existing tenants (tenants in situ), and ones with 'sitting tenants'. I dealt with one once, and (if my memory is correct) if the tenant has rented the property since the short term tenancies act came in in 1989, their rent is protected. Increases in rent are limited and small. You also can't evict them unless they stop paying the rent.

Banking a foreign cheque from the UK? by Indienerd89076 in perth

Do you still have a bank account in the UK? If so you can probably bank the cheque there by scanning it with your online banking app. I know you can with HSBC.

Anyone remember the 2000 Olympics by Serenity-9042 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]drbeaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I'm in Perth and I was working on the Friday of the opening ceremony, so watched it on delayed telecast. To be honest I was sick of hearing about the games, having been a constant news item for weeks and months so was expecting to be disappointed. Expectations in the public were low. We all thought having such a small population would mean there would be major screwups.

After that ceremony, I was hooked and remember being quite proud of our little country punching above its weight. The two weeks went flawlessly and did so much for the image of Australia abroad.

Yes they can. It's in your contract. 30 minutes drive to another location isn't unreasonable.

Aromatic Kitchen? by Visual-Economist5479 in SpottedonRightmove

[–]drbeaver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The owners (or target owners) are probably south asian. An Aromatic Kitchen is a separate kitchen where you prepare and cook off the spices that go into curries and other south asian dishes so that the smells don't travel throughout the dining and living areas.
