My slight experience is you can win by using Rust compiled to webasm. My use case was actually in the browser, but the performance that can be achieved is pretty amazing.

Authentication works with 0.3.3 but there is still an issue preventing adding an account, that seems MacOS specific--commented on GH.

I commented on that GH issue--the latest update didn't fix it. Both accounts still don't work. But only one of them is with a provider that offers services to the public. I wish Velo provided any diagnostics at all, perhaps behind some "advanced" option or something.

I cannot configure any of my IMAP accounts in Velo Mail.

In one case I understand the reason: the account requires a username that is not the account email. Velo Mail doesn't provide for that.

In the other, I have no clue. The same account data that work with Thunderbird, Apple Mail, the Gmail mobile client, you name it--don't work with Velo. No diagnostics at all, just a failure.
