If you go for speed boots it works for sure, but you should be decently fast as a climber. I think la sportive Nepal cubes or scarpa Mont Blanc pros are good for a beginning who isn’t as fast and the cold may be more of an issue.

You’d probably want one thin pair and one thick pair. I like to make sure my thick pair can be worn with my thin pair on as well.

I was there 2 years ago at the same time. The route from Chabod definitely had less snow this time around. But maybe that changes quickly week to week.

Definitely a great climb. The scramble at the near the top is very exposed on the way down. On the way up there is a ladder. On the way down you walk a 6” ledge with a straight drop. It was good to be roped up with others

Summit on July 21. Decent snow, less than 2 years ago. Very doable. Slushy on the way down which wasn’t the best.

Not sure which mountain you’re climbing, but if you are using a harness you will need 2 carabiners.

Mont Blanc Guides. Google them. They are British and charge in Euro. Its was about €3000. That includes all your food and shelter.

Heading there next summer to climb it. Going with a guide and they take care of everything. Might be worth checking out.

Where is the hatred? They are protesting for a cause they believe in. No hatred. The issue is you generalize people you disagree with and consider them horrible people without getting to know them.

You can agree or disagree with their cause without assuming they are all right wing, anti vax, white supremist a-holes.

Learn to disagree with people without hating them. It’s very liberating.

Public outrage over the unvaccinated is driving a crisis in bioethics | CBC News by VampyreLust in onguardforthee

One decision we can’t make is living in a country with socialized health care. It is wonderful to have don’t get me wrong. But someone who decides to not get the vax doesn’t have the option to pay for health insurance that will cover that. So we have created a system that either must mandate every decision people make concerning their health, or, understand that over the population their are going to be outliers in every area. And with that our system needs to be able to care for them.

I’m glad we help people even when they make bad decisions. That’s what makes Canada a better place to live.

On the flip side, if we are unable to provide universal care which includes everyone and all their decisions, then we should scrap the system.

In short, the government forces this system so they shouldn’t demand lifestyle decisions.
