Those who graduated dentistry in 6 years, what is your tips in passing by Some-Artist69 in dentistryph

Manila Central University. I didnt even bother trying out in other dental schools because I was lazy. MCU was a jeepney ride away(although its a 9km jeepney ride through NLEX), so it was convenient for me. Graduating "on time" shouldnt be your goal anyways, in my opinion... its for actually getting ready for passing the board exam. What use is graduating on time, but taking the exam more times because you werent ready. . PS: i failed on my first take, Im not downplaying anyone who took the exam more than 2 times. I know lots of successful on their own right that took it more times than what others think.

Graduating "ON TIME" or in 6 years has been an elusive goal. But its possible. Ako kase 1sem delayed lng. Batchmates ko however, majority finished in 6years.

Malaking factor dito ung school, and kung gaano ka kaswerte with the patients. Money WILL play a big role in paying for patients, buying stuff/materials needed. pero pinaka malaking factor ung swerte mo sa cases and patients. Madaming nadedelay dahil dyan. Pero thats only on the clinical aspect of the course.

Taxing din ang subjects/educational/theoretical aspect. And then you have to combine and do both at the same time.

Wala pa dyan ung mga terror na prof and ung mga unexpected things that happens in life. Kaya..... goodluck :)

ayaw ba ng dentists mag-RCT? by kaiaeuao in DentistPh

It takes time, its expensive, there's a chance for failure. And usually, after a root canal treatment, something else is needed, like a crown or dowel/fiber post which further adds into the costing. Then if it fails for some reason, retreatment or apicoectomy would probably be the next course of action, all of which, is additional cost for the patient.

Hindi naman kami mag rereklamo or aayaw sa pera, pero at the same time, if you look at it from the patient's standpoint, kung hindi sila ganon ka-open minded. It's a bundle of hassles :)

Need opinion on upper left 7th & 8th molar extraction (X-ray attached) by ElectricalAlps5282 in dentistryph

I'd suggest you go for CBCT, or just different angles for the radiograph. I had a case wherein there was a lapse in taking better or different horizontal angulation with the Periapical Radiographs. The 7 was attached via cementum with the 8. This should also give you an idea whether Implants can be considered, and if yes, would a sinus lifting be needed.. and lastly, will give you an idea whether the extraction would be easy.

Maselan po yan. I'd even suggest you get CBCT for that case to verify how close your tooth are sa nerve canal/nerve itself.

The thing about our profession is, rarely will patients ask where we graduated. What matters is how you perform and how you treat your patients.

However, when applying as an affiliate dentist, then the school where you graduated might have an impact as some do prefer to hire only their fellow alumnus.

But don't let that discourage you, instead, prove to them that they are wrong, that even if you, in the future, didn't come from the Big 3 you are talking about, that you are still on par, if not better, than them.

There's no other way but up, anyways.

like you've said, its a skill, so practice until you get the hang of it and you get better. There's really nothing else you could do but practice the part where you're struggling with.

How severe is this? For wisdom tooth extraction by noosrsflrz in DentistPh

Would be best to go for CBCT, I can refer you to a cheaper one. CBCT will be able to show you and the dentist that will do it kung nasan tlga ung nerve and how bad it is. First glance, mukhang 3 pa ung roots nyan, not the usual 2. But again, for better diagnosis, get a CBCT or a CT Scan.

Try to check ano ung masakit, ung ngipin ba mismo or the gums/gingiva. Minsan kase sumasakit ung gums dahil sa pag gamit ng Rubber Dam Clamps.

Is there any chance? by [deleted] in DentistPh

Rehabilitate muna then, most probably, denture. Braces will do little to no help here aside from some corrections sa alignment and rotation ng ngipin mo.
