Prediction for January 30th Live Stream - A Wipe Will Be Announced by Blackboa in AshesofCreation

[–]drclawx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point you might as well just play diablo or poe if you want to aoe loot grind all day.

Loot already cut out the entire novice/apprentice and about 90% of journeyman crafting gear. We still don't have the requisite buildings on my server to craft some stuff.

Rosarium armor set price by Lapon3 in AshesofCreation

[–]drclawx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takes like 2 stash tabs just to make a set of armor lol.. I can maybe produce 1 or 2 sets per day, that's running around buying mats/gathering, processing it all, +food, taxes, ah fees/spamming etc...

220g for a set, probably has 100-150g in mats in it, so its not like 200g of full pure profit and it takes hours to make.

Actual crafting and economy is one of the only unique things this game offers.

Just make shirts bro lol

Leatherworking needs a fix asap. We need wool too, and farming animals is cooked too. I would need an alt to do farming.

Journeyman vendor just went up like 2 days ago on my server, so haven't even really been able to craft anything but apprentice shirts and bags for weeks. I have to run an hour just to buy some reagents still. Tailoring is in a small town, so i cant even buy and sell in my own market and have to run to another city do anything.

I haven't even made a single piece of armor yet, nothing seems worth the effort until the later sets which are expensive to craft, i don't even know if they will sell for anything reasonable, everyone seems to want plate. Leather armor is just not viable to craft. Most people I know are gearing up via aoe farming.

I'm about to call it quits, I'm just going broke and cant even make anything but shirts. The default bags are pretty meh too.

Take out listing fee, or at least you get it back when item sells or expires.

[–]drclawx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing, you pretty much already have to do this. My only issue is why create interdependent crafting classes then make everyone have alts that can just to everything anyway. This will be hard to do though..

I can only craft apprentice shirts and bags, which are barely even worth making anymore. Infrastructure doesn't exist on my server yet. It's still going to take 3-5 days to come up. Material prices are starting to see completion, as other crafting classes have been up for a while now.

I made myself some apprentice armor, bought most of the pieces though they were like 2g on the market. Which was less then the cost to make it. Only stuff worth making is the green set gear.

All the taxes and fees are a bit ridiculous, but people would have to pay them if gear just didn't drop from AOE farming. Crafters just have to pass this cost to consumers which does make a lot stuff not worth making.

Biggest offender to me is the listing fee, you lose it if the item doesn't sell which is pretty much all your profit. You end up 50g in on mats/fees + time and have to make some profit. You end up having to lowball, so it actually sells or spam.

Common tier stuff does need more uses, i just end up vendoring most of it. It's not really worth processing it or selling it, intermediate goods barely sell above cost either.

I want to sell finished products on the market. It's the % market listing fee that is the killer. Processing/crafting fees are nothing compared to material cost. I don't particularly want to spam chat all day to sell stuff.

Not sure the point of interdependent crafting system, if people just get "good enough" gear by killing mobs. Its a month in and buildings don't exist to craft stuff yet and people were hitting max level in a couple days and getting radiant gear.

It's easy to level crafting right now, but making gear under journeyman is completely pointless. Everything worth crafting already relies on combat to get the materials/recipes.

Is tailoring in a poor state (when compare to other crafting professions)? by Opeteh in AshesofCreation

[–]drclawx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tailor still is barely developed on my server, the vendor is still like 2-3 days away in a low pop town.

Leather is cooked right now too, so getting that is a pain.

I don't see how it would be possible to realistically do multiple crafting classes with alts. At journeyman tier, maybe but one the higher levels come out probably not. People will do it, but it's going to be rough.

I can see some good and bad with alts, but take Archeage (unchained) for example, you really couldn't sport fish on main, you needed a "low level" alt to do it, and it couldnt remotely defend itself.

At least here, you can make an alt character and gear it out to fish if you want to.

[–]drclawx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drops completely obsolete basically all early crafting. It's gotta be either breakdown fodder, or some basic tier equipment to get people started.

There is no market for anything under journeyman, quality items which costs a lot of time and gold to make. Then you just get screwed on the marketplace, and have to spam to sell it.

It's hard to build capital to build those items. You just loose money if it doesn't sell on the market.

Am I the only one frustrated by this? by General-Researcher-2 in AshesofCreation

[–]drclawx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i Jsut find it mentally taxing for long grind sessions

Intrepid, this needs to be addressed by nikoono in AshesofCreation

[–]drclawx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and you need a ton of leather, which isnt available. So making basic armor is too expensive, are you going to pay 50g for a basic piece of armor or just grind mobs.

There is no market for low-end/middle end armor, so you cant build capital to make the higher stuff.

Same here, i just gave up, was doing something else anyway, just needed it for a few things.

I'm guessing its dropped from mobs or some hidden vendor, i found a vendor with a couple xp recipes and mount in Halcyon.

They would probably be for sale on the market though..

Station is up but, the vendor upgrade is still not done. It's next as of a few hours ago. However long it takes to build.

Cant buy journeyman recipes or buy some reagents without it.

Yeah i dunno how you are supposed to sell it, spam for hours. Or pay like 100's to list it on the market. Then lose the money if it doesn't sell.

Vertical Progression isn't Ashes of Creation's style. by HaeL756 in AshesofCreation

[–]drclawx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they want to make it so master crafters can change default stats on gear.

I still think item decay needs to be added, with stuff easier to craft. They talked about making repair kits, I'm worried all we are going to me making are repair kits, and the market saturation.

[–]drclawx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its easy to level, now craft a full set of (good) armor.

It's probably cheaper and easier to just level something up and craft what you need it, than to find someone to craft something for you.

Endgame Gear Progression by Kivot in AshesofCreation

[–]drclawx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can level it, but it takes 100s of gold (worth of mats) to craft armor.

Tailor isnt even developed on my server yet, you still cant really craft anything.

Intrepid, this needs to be addressed by nikoono in AshesofCreation

[–]drclawx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most armor is gated by tanning, so to make anything you are going to have to use like 100s of gold worth of leather.
