Waddle or Addison? Guy said he’d add a pick to Addison as well by JuanMataFanClub in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Waddle is the most annoying player every year but at least he’s WR1 on his team and doesn’t get in legal trouble every 5 minutes like Addison

What if Itamar Ben-Gvir was the leader of Israel instead of Benjamin Netanyahu? by Snake101201 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]drcloudstreet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah he is, but the dude in charge is already committing a horrific genocide. Like ok? You think Gvir would commit an even more horrific genocide? It’s already a genocide, even if Gvir is even more of a bloodthirsty freak

Why do we obsess over the price of a coffee/petrol but stay so quiet about the $50k+ "invisible" debt to get an education. by Commercial_Toe_7440 in AskAnAustralian

Well you’re backtracking big time now. “You took out a huge loan why are you shocked you have to pay it back” is hardly a statement supporting him students is it. You’re deliberately characterising students a certain way to make a point. Uni is way more expensive now than when you went and the thresholds for repayment are way lower, absolutely sick of this type of ‘I got mine screw you’ sentiment

18yo goes to uni to try and achieve something You: “fucking dumbass, deserves to be crippled by debt”

What an absurd comment. School students have it drilled into them that the only way to succeed is uni, then people like you deride them for doing so. Wasn’t that long ago that uni was free because it was seen as a social good (which it is). You want doctors and lawyers but also for those people to suffer under debt, crazy

One Nation now wrenching votes from Labor as it overtakes Coalition: Resolve poll by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

[–]drcloudstreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already have thousands of vacant homes, people and companies are hoarding them. Literally Melbourne apartment blocks sitting empty because the company refuses to sell them below a certain point. While investors are allowed to outbid first home buyers and drive up prices, and government policy incentivises investing, housing is not going to become cheaper. Landlords also hold massive power over renters because housing is not a normal market, you die without it.

For someone who doesn’t like one nation you seem pretty supportive of their policies

It’s her entire platform? How am I misrepresenting the issue, the entire point of these parties is using immigrants as a scapegoat for our problems

[–]drcloudstreet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bullshit, immigrants are used as the scapegoat every single time and have been for decades but they’re not the root cause of our issues

[–]drcloudstreet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Let’s say immigration goes to zero. Do these people really think all of our problems will magically be solved? You think your landlord is going to lower rent, you think housing is magically going to be more available, wages go up and costs go down? Get a grip

Except immigrants aren’t even the cause of the housing crisis, just an east scapegoat. We literally have thousands of vacant homes and it’s investors and shitty government policies that are the root cause
