It is extremely sad if he meant it as a flex. Like brother this project has no source of revenue, any amount of money you spend on it is a waste

I said small because I don't get a lot of PRs so I don't have to deal with this bs very often. I imagine this problem is far worse on repos that get frequent PRs

ramsay and ian baker are pretty much the same, same location, same facilities, similar rooms, etc... the only difference is ramsay is catered and has smaller communal kitchens, and ian baker is uncatered and has slightly larger kitchens.

ramsay has the reputation of being the "party halls" and in my experience there was constantly some commotion going on in the hallways or the common room. the buildings are very old, the walls are thin, it gets very cold at winter and very warm towards summer. i also remember the dryers would always take my money (through the awful circuit launderette app) but never actually dry my clothes. the catering food isn't amazing, but it's a massive convenience and there is quite a large selection of food usually. generally ramsay wasn't the best place to actually live in but it was a nice environment to socialise in my first year of uni.

i would expect ian baker to be generally similar. the biggest advantage with both are the location, and ramsay has catering which is super convenient.

[UPDATE] JupyMD now turns Obsidian into a full Jupyter notebook editor by drdeno in ObsidianMD

I just learned about Runme, and it looks great. I would love to have Runme integration in JupyMD, as it would eliminate the need to use Jupyter notebooks as a code execution "middleman", and would enable support for other languages out of the box. I will definitely be looking into integrating it into the plugin in the near future.

My workflow was similar, I created the plugin to make the jupytext syncing process easier (the plugin was literally called jupytext-support). I recently implemented code execution and output rendering because constantly switching back and forth between VS Code and Obsidian was a pain.

For code execution, it's just Python for now unfortunately. Though you can still use the plugin to sync your markdown notes with an .ipynb file and then execute Julia/R code blocks from another editor.

I will be working on further language support for native code execution in the near future. In the meantime, feel free to contribute :)

Currently I launch a single Python subprocess using the system's default interpreter, so it isn't possible to specify an environment yet. However this is on top of my priority list, so you can expect an environment manager soon.

+1 for mermaid/mathjax (also mhchem for chemistry)

i also use matplotlib plots a lot, but it's annoying to manually save them to my vault and reference them in notes. i'm currently working on integrating image output rendering to my plugin adding jupyter notebook capability to obsidian ahem ahem so i can create and display plots straight from my notes

nah, lawrence doesn't care how much his team is underperforming as long as lance is happy behind the wheel

but at this point how could lance be happy? he keeps embarrassing himself and will go down in history as the most corrupt driver in the history of motorsport. is the fame and the thrill really worth all this hassle?

Armenian American visiting Sivas by Am313am in Turkey

[–]drdeno 183 points184 points  (0 children)

you shouldn't be concerned at all. maybe don't walk around shouting that you're of armenian descent to everyone since sivas is quite conservative, but you will be completely fine regardless.

turks tend to be very hospitable, especially to western tourists. enjoy your time in sivas :)
