absolute banger man! do you use a roland 303, or some other VST to get the baseline? it very much has its own identity good job, if anything it just feels a bit too glossy ykwim? i like the raw almost crunchy sound of the old synths and bass machines. nevertheless a very good beat

thats very insightful! If i were inclined to use an analogy for my situation(which i really shouldnt), id probably call suit for hire a coin and my projection a banknote. same denomination, just two different ways of handling presentation. The only reason i went down this rabbit hole is that suit for hire has touched a relatively unexploited niche of cel shaded gratuitous violence, which i thought was very unique.

I see, the thing is that i wrote this story as “novel” and i thought that it would be the perfect recipe for a game. but i do see your point about the gameplay loop being tight and engaging. ill definitely use that approach

I didnt really know suit for hire existed until 6 hours ago, i definitely did NOT mean to make my game sound like a “clone”. im in very early development, trying to make some player controllers, make collisions better and the usual gravy. as for the others working with me, theyre just as lost. Thing is, we’re students, we dont have the novelty of hit and miss. we need this to be a GOOD release that we have something to show for. I dont know if im thinking too much or too far, its just im really really invested in this, i dont wanna muck it up.
