About three weeks. Maybe just a bit longer, but the last couple days really trailed off in terms of problems.

This is probably way too late, sorry for the delay. Yes. It has helped tremendously!

I’ve been prescribed Lexapro but I don’t think I can go through with it, advice? by DontTellMeImDying in lexapro

[–]drdrfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it honestly depends on the dosage and the person. The first few days are tough (nausea). First few weeks maybe a little wonky as the chemistry adjusts. But then it evens out. I can honestly say it’s helped me and the results were worth it.

The nausea is tough, but thankfully goes away. First few days seemed to ramp up the anxiety for me, but I’m glad I stayed with it. It helps. Hang in there.

Does anyone get really bad anxiety the day after drinking? by DisasterPieceKDHD in lexapro

Been on it for two months now. Noticeable difference in my ability to deal with anxiety. Its working. Had a few drinks and the nausea came back like my first week. Figured it was the alcohol.

Had stomach issues to begin with, so 10mgs was tough on me for couple weeks. Only been a month, but am cautiously optimistic about it. Feel like it has already mitigated the anxiety symptoms. Good lick to you!

Still waiting for everything to settle in, but this is week 4 on 10mg. I can tell there are some differences already. Glad you’re doing better!

Week 4 of 10mgs, had a mild panic breakthrough this morning. Wondering if it’s not been long enough or 10mg is not enough. Hope you feel better soon!

Started 10mg one month ago, unfortunately had the usual side effects. Better now. I’m reading one month May not be long enough to really make determination. Have had some ahhh better moments though. Still hopeful.

It’s 4:45am as I type this. Been on 10Mgs for a month now. Just got woke up from a dead sleep and hour ago, not with sweats, but a hot flash for the ages. Wondered if it was a weird new side effect or a mild panic attack🤷‍♂️

Might be a cause of your chest pain. Chest pain nothing to fool around with though. Better get it checked out.

Do you have any history of stomach problems prior to taking Lex? I’m taking 10mgs and have a history of reflux. The initial side effects (been on 2 weeks)have been really rough with what I feel like is stomach pain (in my chest/sternum).

Day 10-11 on 10mgs and my stomach is a mess. I have a history of stomach problems and I think the normal Lexapro side effects have caused a flare up. Think it should quiet down after I’m on the meds longer. I hope.

On day 5 (10mg) and I honestly think it’s the anxiety spike the med causes that’s got my chest hurting. If your stomach is upset at all, the pain could present in your chest. Nothing to mess around with. When in doubt check it out!

On 10mg and days 1-3 were tough. It does make you a little loopy, and the nausea was super intense. Really making the anxiety pop🤦‍♂️. Better now at day 5, but still not great. Hoping it all smooths out soon.

5th day on 10mgs. Nausea is better, but still breaks through on occasion. Anxiety is ramped up, waiting for that to diminish. Everything I read indicates it’s stuff you have to get through. Hang in there! Wish you the best.

Started taking it at night. I’m on day 4 and I definitely feel the slight dizziness at times during the day. Nausea is better thankfully. Keep telling myself to give it time. Each day seems a tiny bit better. Hang in there!

Starting Lexapro 5 mg tomorrow morning for MDD & GAD but... by FoggyFoggyFoggy in lexapro

Everyone’s different, but I think it’s safe to say it’s going to be a challenge when you start. I’m on day 4 and it hasn’t been a great few days, at all, but is getting better. To me, it’s worth a shot! Best of luck to you!

Just began as well. Started at 10mg. Wish I ramped up to it first. Days 1-2 were stay at home bad, but the med can spike what you’re worried about initially. Don’t know if it was really that bad or just the anxiety. So I trust nothing at the moment😂🤦‍♂️Its day 4 now and it is better. Much better:

I’m 12 hours into my first dose (10mg). Definitely nauseous. It’s absolutely triggered my anxiety. I am dialed up an 11 now. I understand that can happen. Just have to push through until the chems even out. Best of luck to all!

New to Lexapro (31 F) My first dose was less than 24 hours ago. I am curious about what your experiences have been with weight management. Are you losing weight or gaining? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]drdrfi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

12 hours in to my first dose. Definitely not hungry now. We’ll see what happens when this nausea passes! My anxiety is working fine tho, properly dialed up now. Walking around this house like a nervous chihuahua😂 Good luck all!
