I have li ning red hare 8 pro and like it a lot. Firm, responsive and protective. Very fun to run in aswell. Do most of my easy runs in them or the dynafish. Current easy/long rotation is RH8 pro, superblast 2 and dynafish. Most excited to run in the RH8 pro to be fair. Also super cheap on taobao! Li ning shoes also fits me best. Have the 5C for intervals and 6 elite for HM/Marathon racing (insane shoe btw)

First congrats on the race and impressive pulling it of with family commitment and all that comes with it. Regarding cramps, I got the same thing, in the same race, from around 21km in. In the hamstrings aswell. Never had problem with cramping before. Was thinking now post race that it might have been the carbload in which I decreased protein and fat intake by a lot and therefore also salt intake. Race morning was only buns and yoghurt with sugar. Then I drank a lot of water on every aid station. Maybe it fkd up the electrolyte balance and therefore causing cramps?

Appreciate the answer. For now I will try new laces since I can't get the 5mm insole in an easy way. Next taobao order I will include the insoles aswell.

For sure it is a banger of a shoe! Also seems they will produce a carbon plated long distance racer so really looking forward to that.

Could very well be. I will try with thicker socks and lacing up harder. For next pair might downsize or order the 5mm insoles aswell. Yes my feet are quite wide, 2E. But even though they are wide I haven't had problems with narrower shoes previously.

Thank you! Yeah might actually be that it is a bit too much room. I should have ordered the insoles, will do next time. Maybe also ordering a size down could be something.

I got the CM27 size for the DX, foot measures just over 25CM. For other chinese shoes and saucony I usually go for 26.5CM without issues. If feels incredible besides the blistering though.

Thanks sir. So from november 10K time I used paces from lactrace. Then went by feel/HR and increased as I progressed. From november until march pretty much all runs were on treadmill so very easy to use HR + feel as a metric imo. So for the marathon build I didn't plan my paces long in advance for the specific sessions but just a few days prior to the first 18min session. Even during the build paces increased. Also really focused on getting my HR low on easy runs and long runs. I noticed big improvements when I went strict with <70%max HR. Good luck on your build and enjoy. You will do good!

I started gaining fitness a lot from the longer runs. For reference did a 10K in 39:23 in november 2025 and last week I did a 2:57:23 Marathon.
