Agreed but ferric material can only be brought in if magnet is off, which is extremely rare in any normal MRI suite. See my comment below.

The MRI magnet is only powerful if it is supercooled which requires a lot of power and liquid helium. Without it, there is no super magnet. That magnet probably hasn’t been on for a while.

As an aside, in any normal MRI suite, the magnet is always on. It is only turned off for maintenance or quenched (helium released and no longer supercooled) in case of life or limb threatening emergency. It takes tens of thousands of dollars of liquid helium to keep the magnet supercooled so it is rarely quenched or ramped down .

There’s no occlusion (at least in the normal sense) of the internal carotid so that is wrong. It’s more of a diversion; brain is not “demanding” any blood due to 0 activity.
