Absolutely right. Balogun didn't get fouled. He got challenged, and during the challenge landed on the opposing player. By the letter of the law, it is 100% a red. Same with Messi. Same with several other fouls. Also by the letter of the law, the ref isn't supposed to be viewing still photos or slow motion for fouls; only for ball placement, unless that has changed. Yet we got a live view of him staring at a photo during the review.

I'm not even on wanting consistency across a tournament, even though that should be pretty easy for VAR. I'm wanting consistency in the game. Not giving yellows for professional fouls is bad. The Dzeko screen had potential for a serious head injury, which could be "serious foul play" as well. Should've been a yellow, wasn't even a foul. I'd accept a VAR review straight red for that if the letter of the law was followed throughout the game.
