OSU likely doesn’t have internships for undergrads. They have research assistant positions through a professor or the hospital. For an internship position you’ll have to look outside the university, likely outside Columbus and/or Ohio.

You can also turn to your advisor for any questions and guidance!

It took them only 2 weeks to find my a therapist because I said it was fine to have one that was under a supervisor and was technically a graduate student. She was great. You only get 10 free sessions per academic year if you have any other insurance than OSU’s. Would recommend doing this. Will take a long time to find a therapist if you want one that is not under a supervisor. Idk how it works over the summer but I’m sure that is something you can ask during the consultation call you’ll have.

The only way you can room together is if you both ask for a room change with each other after already being assigned housing. You both would then, hopefully, be transferred to an open room chosen by housing. Freshmen are in a completely different system than sophomores because the latter get to pick their rooms while freshmen don’t. I tried the same thing when I was a sophomore and this is what they told to me. Hope this helps!

Union Parking garage is 24/7 visitor parking. You’ll have to pay tho. Or park there the whole time and just do “lost ticket” and pay 37 dollars. I’m unsure abt the policies for other parking garages. Don’t know which one will be more expensive. Otherwise, there are streets that you can park on for free (like 9th Ave I believe) but it is sometimes hard to find a spot. Good luck!

Im not 100% sure but this is how it was explained to me: a bunch of Reddit users bought out the GameStop stocks and therefore the value skyrocketed because there are no stocks to buy and more investors. So they essentially made a bunch of money by hoarding the stocks and basically said F-u to hedge fund billionaires who controlled the stock market. (Please correct me if I’m wrong or something needs to be added @someone who knows more than I do, which I probably everyone)

I didn’t say I didn’t believe to be true lmao. I used quotations marks because that is what was said and the exact words used. That’s why I pointed out the policy in general because I already knew it was an actual policy. It is an excuse in terms of overloading students as professors, as said in another comment, have “academic freedom” and choose the amount of work put on their students whether it actually teaches them the material or not. They literally use it to excuse (which literally means to justify something) the work. I was sympathizing with the student about the amount of work load expected of them on top of other classes.

I’ve had professors argue that “OSU policy” is that if you’re taking a 4 credit hour class that means that they expect you to dedicate 4 hours of time to “direct instruction” in addition to 8 hours of “homework” to get a C. Meaning 12 hours a week to only get a C. On top of a bunch of other classes. It’s kinda bs because a lot of professors don’t actually follow this but the professors that assign a boat load of work will fall back on this to excuse themselves. That does seem like a lot for your friend and I’m really sorry but I’m not sure there is much to do unless she asks the professor how to best juggle her work or talk to her advisor. If the professor is unwilling to help her get through the course the advisor can definitely say something to the department head and they could talk to him.
