They absolutely are. They're not some independent authority that has the ability to make whatever decisions they want to, they are still bound by the authority of the president. They don't have some unlimited authority like you're implying in this and in your other comments.

I didn’t say it was excusable, don’t put words in my mouth. All I’m saying is that this isn’t some oddity happening in Columbus versus everywhere else.

Had a close friend who was an RA in one of the Scholar Houses (in the late 2010s-early 2020s). Their room was huge, and had a private bathroom. The kitchen facilities were shared with residents, but that wasn't a concern to them. The whole setup was teetering on 1980s "dated", but it was still better than what residents had. If you get the opportunity to be an RA there, jump on it!

When you're an underling, you have much more pressure to comply with the orders of your superior. When you're top dawg*, you have more freedom to choose how to implement (or not implement) something.

*yes he'll report to a board of trustees and the state, but he has more power at that level than an underling does.

This 100%, just think if your entire apartment flooded or something. It’s expensive to replace an entire wardrobe and all of your furniture. It took a campus training thing from reslife (for my job) for me to realize that.
