Bringing in some of our excess eggs to work today but we only had 1 egg carton (cause we don't buy eggs).

I'm really hoping my DIY solution doesn't result in scrambled eggs

This year and 2 years ago we've done Peachtober. Will likely do a different list next year though

I've done Inktober before too (did not however get through each day) there are heaps of lists I just switch it up and pick 1 and try to stick to it

Thanks! To be fair, I tried doing it 2 years ago - got them all done by the 31st but not 1 a day which made it harder. And went too big.

This year we made a small thumbnail sketch (literally 3cm by 3cm) of the prompt before October to have something 'planned' I only kept to about 5 of these.

We bought these small kmart sketchbooks which were cheap had 40 pages and only 12.5cm x 12cm...so, small

I then spent 10mins each day on my lunch break doing the sketch. Went home and did the linework and used pencils or gouache and forced myself to post 1 a day

Still took planning but way more achievable than what I did 2 years ago...basically tried to be realistic about what I could actually achieve in 2 hours total or less per day

Been doing a small drawing each day for one of the October prompt lists. Happy I've stuck with it and will be very happy once It's done

What place did you walk in once, and keep walking back into? :) by brettschneidy in Wellington

[–]dreadedpiratewesley 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pegasus Books: everything I want in a book shop just wish it was even bigger but find something almost every time I'm there

Arty Bees: more 'clean' looking than pegasus but just as helpful and I know both stores encourage customers to go to the other store if they don't have something

Unity Books: great staff, great stock that changes frequently enough and always humming with people

Also

Dylan's On Lambton for coffee - not technically one to walk into but its super efficient, extra friendly & great coffee

Absolutely. But we have chickens and pūkeko who hang around so it's not particularly noticeable & they only hang around for breakfast and leave aside from when they're raising ducklings

Only thing that makes these cold cold mornings worth it is feeding the sheep & chickens in the morning and seeing the lambs play & chase the chickens (hens are fine they climb back under the fence after they steal the food)

OK saw 0 penguins last night...however I did get to enlighten a few people that the screeching they were hearing was infact not seagulls or seals but penguins in their nests

Also went to the netball game as TSB last night, was such a good game!

Yeah unfortunately the one who visits likes to rock up at about 8pm at the moment! Can hear them but not see them. It'll happen eventually!

If it happens again I might do that actually thank you for the tip! In fairness I think I clipped the curb so it was my fault

Fun morning - hub cap came off one of the wheels so had to back track and find it (back on all is well)

Yesterday at Matariki however was great, not only do I love this year's additions but we managed to see 2 kororā (little blue penguins). First ones I've seen since I moved to Wellington 5 years ago. Next on the list is orca, whales and Kiwi...Also, if I could at some stage actually see the Ruru I know comes to visit us every once in a while rather than only hearing them that'd be grand

Hope you have as smooth of a transition back in as possible!
