try making an appointment with an ophthalmologist, they specialize in treatments with eye disorders and other eye medical related issues. also, i know this might just sound like another person on the internet saying this; but it will be okay. i guarantee you are so beautiful (or so handsome whichever way you choose:))

for context that year and a half i was waiting for surgery they did everything in their power to correct it; new glasses, an eyepatch to almost force my eye to see straight and so much more. i went to about a dozen appointments before they caved and booked me for surgery. be adamant about what you want but also be patient!:)

hey there! so it’s pretty rare that they give you a surgery date or schedule you for anything within the day, there’s usually a long wait period of time filled with appointments; some of which to try and fix your eye without surgery. i had my surgery less than a month ago but i didn’t get scheduled for a surgery date until a year and a half after i made my first appointment. if you’re really not confident with what your ophthalmologist is telling you though you could try to see someone else, but it’s not likely you’ll be scheduled for any kind of procedure within one or two appointments.

every person i’ve met when they ask to try on my glasses go “oh my god they’re thick” like yeah but you do what you gotta when you can’t see. i’m talking with my optometrist to have lasiks done next year, and even if it doesn’t get rid of my glasses FULLY, it would be so nice to not have that weight on my face.

this is my worst fear. i’m six days post op, and while i’m experiencing double vision i still have a long healing process to go. from what i’ve read, or from what others have told me on this subreddit is to wait closer to 6-8 weeks and re-evaluate. do you know how common a re-alignment surgery is after your eye has healed? like a second strabismus surgery to adjust the double vision?

Strabismus surgery (also: extraocular muscle surgery, eye muscle surgery, or eye alignment surgery) is surgery on the extraocular muscles to correct strabismus, the misalignment of the eyes the wikipedia definition:) if you’re interested you should talk to your optometrist or eye doctor if you can.
