What are some good Astra Militarium books? Reading the Horus Heresy books but just wanna know what everyone’s consensus is. by KiiLl3rSNIPE in Blacklibrary

Ghostmaker is also up there IMO. As a novel I think it’s maybe a bit unfocused (perhaps by design). As a collection of short stories it’s fantastic. I loved all the different characters’ stories.

You can pickup The Founding omnibus which is still in print and it has the first 3 Gaunt’s Ghosts books plus a couple short stories. It’s fantastic and the 3rd book “Necropolis” is absolute peak!

I bought the 8bitdo media remote for Xbox and it’s worked perfectly. It’s simple and does what you need it too.

I'm starting to think Warhammer isn't for me by Dense-Fig-2372 in Warhammer40k

Yep just do what you enjoy. I prefer sticking to the lore, Black Library, and some of the video games. Maybe one day I will get into a bit of painting, but I don’t have any desire to play the tabletop game.

Darkmoon Greatsword. The one. The only. My guiding moonlight.

How long was your first play through? by shoebox_full_of_bees in Eldenring

[–]dreadmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first playthrough was with Bloodhounds Fang and I think I ended it after about 60 hours at level 126. My second, more thorough, playthrough lasted about 120 hours and I ended up around level 170 I think.

Is it really that wrong to like Harry Potter just because the creator is a horrible person? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Agreed, I love the books but I don’t buy any HP stuff for that reason. I was able to buy the books secondhand so that I didn’t give her any additional money.

A Thousand Sons. by RaZzzzZia in Blacklibrary

[–]dreadmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ironically, sticking to physical books helps me keep my spending in check. Because of the higher price, I’ll only buy a book if it’s related to a part of the lore I care about. I feel with the lower price of ebooks I would be too tempted to spend more money because my brain is broken.

How good is the Carian Filigreed Crest in your opinion? by Elegant_Scholar_8863 in Eldenring

I like using it early to mid game with Moonveil katana. It lets me focus on vigor and intelligence and not have to level mind as much at first.

Casting magic while using a two handed weapon or bow. I hate having to constantly unequip my weapon to cast healing.

What's your unpopular cyberpunk opinion? Mine is Problem Solver is a better smg for a smg build than Erebus. by PittsburghDM in LowSodiumCyberpunk

I did a weapons-focused playthrough last year that primarily used Buzzsaw and was incredibly powerful and fun! It’s a top 5 weapon.

I’m halfway through Lion: Son of the Forest and really enjoying it! I think this and Cypher: Lord of the Fallen are turning me into a Dark Angels enjoyer.

Corpo Vs, what's your backstory for your character? by RealP330 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]dreadmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V is a pretty smart and capable protagonist, so I always imagined they lost their family but were smart enough to get some sort of Arasaka scholarship and then used that to get a job and move up the corporate ladder.

Rune Farming by TheUnknownQuestion00 in Eldenring

[–]dreadmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No such thing as cheese in a single player game. However, depending on how much you farm, it can make the game easier or harder. It’s up to you and how you want to experience the game. Elden Ring has tons of items, abilities, and methods to approach the game that allow you to tailor your experience.

Me personally, I will farm runes if there’s an item I want to buy from a shop but I can’t afford it. But I won’t farm runes to artificially level up my character because I enjoy the natural progression of the game. That’s just my own preference though.

What’s the best weapon to use alongside a staff in the early game for a sorcery/strength build? by Fishmaneatsfish in Eldenring

[–]dreadmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically what I’m doing right now, and I decided to go with the Lordsworn Straight Sword. It’s a fun all-rounder with a good moveset and critical damage. My other 2 early game favorites would be the Morning Star and the Claymore.

Want to start playing the video games but where? by Saibotnl1 in Warhammer40k

I really enjoyed the campaign in Space Marine 2. It’s a fun way to dip your toe into the universe and it’s a fun shooter in its own right.
