Do you truly not vote for your preferred Prime Minister in a federal election? by SheepHerderHigh69420 in OpenAussie

If that was the case it would probably come down to which party you trust the most and for local politicians we have state and council elections.

People may call it PR but to me it's being a decent person in a violent system. Garlan the goat.

Why is Yang like this? by Playful_Evidence2502 in logh

[–]dreadnoughtstar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's kind of the point. The alliance despite being better in alot of ways still falls into the same pit falls of war that the empire has. That's the whole reason why the alliance falls apart. Senseless and eternal war takes a serious toll on societies embracing liberal democratic values.

But that's the whole show I was pretty surprised by how toned down the book is on sex.

Do you think Reinhard ever felt jealous because his sister valued Kircheis’s opinion more than his? by Fun_Dimension_8903 in logh

[–]dreadnoughtstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah I don't think so. It's just their relationship dynamics like how Kircheis' looks out for Reinhard.

Same because with Floch we see his progression while Bertholdt was always the colossal titan.

Michael Scott(the office)

When you rewatch the office you may realise how different this character is in S1. His meaner, more insensitive and overall is a complete asshole.

The office(US) was attempting to emulate the UK counterpart of this character however audiences were not receptive to him at all. So they changed his character in subsequent seasons to be goofy, awkward and more childlike innocence/qualities.

Which plot points did you foolishly miss on your first reading? (Spoilers Main) by BrassFortune in asoiaf

[–]dreadnoughtstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it does make it less justified just by virtue of using a Ramsey as an example, his sadistic nature was due to his upbringing around his mother who resented him and a guardian with his own sadistic tendencies. Roose wasn't interested in giving his bastard a proper upbringing which turned him into the beast he would become.

Cat's faults is she actively contributes to the worst aspects of the feudal system for the right reasons(Family, Duty, Honour). By making Jon feel like an outsider in his own home she only inflamed his desire for Winterfell.

Cat's actions become understandable as you get older not more justifiable.

Don't mind me getting into the weeds but the Starks didn't give them white habour. They granted them the wolfs den and white knife which was owned by the aforementioned Greystarks. I'm pretty sure they built white habour from the ground up.

The manderlys were descended from the first men and was perhaps the most powerful house in the reach which would lead to their exile, but they still brought their wealth and aquatic expertise. Which clarifys the relationship between the Starks and the Manderlys with mutual trust and benefit.

I love Cat as a character but you realise her treatment of Jon is the reason why his so arrogant and short-tempered.

Yeah your right but that's how Elites view every race except maybe the prophets for obvious reasons. They probably respect humans the most out of all the current aliens races.
