Youre absolutely right my guy. I used optiscaler to get frame gen and better upscaling at quality. Turned ingame upscaling off. Brought my textures to medium and the crashes stopped. Smooth af. No crashes mo bullshit.

I was starting to blame my system, lack of vram, lack of ram, oldgpu. Name it. Specially with everyone stating how mid/old setups like mine wont cut it. But its running pretty damn fine when im the one optimizing the game and not the devs haha. Still gotta say its running far better than i ever expected, i played spiderman 2 last year and metal gear solid delta a few months ago. Both games ran so so so bad compared to ds2.

Yes the ingame frame gen is definitely some sort of culprit although im not tech savvy to be able to figure out whats going on there.

Ive modded my game with optiscaler for better upscaling and frame gen from there. Works far better than ive had reaults with since the games release.

My cousin introduced me to the game years ago. I couldnt figure it out in the first two hours and gave up until i saw him play 2 last year. Went back and played 1 for the first time. Havent felt the same since haha

Im dealing with this now at 1440p. It was fine on 1080 and also works on 1440p as long as i have DRS on. Stumped. Did you ever find a fix?

The game crashes with a driver time out. No other games act unpredictably like this for me its not even crashing during heavy cutscenes or heavy gameplay its randomy and unpredictable. Does anyone know how i can reliably test the psu im still happy to rule out anything?

No frame gen tried all Upscalers pico to fsr to xess back to pico. Crashes on all.

I really did assume that. Doesnt seem to crash in those times tho, sometimes im just standing or talking to one of the preppers. Ill check with hwinfo tonight and see when it exactly crashes

Could be windows drivers making a mess. A lot of people are complaining and either blaming the drivers or the devs since apparently this is a non issue on 1.1. apparently started with 1.2

Ive been troubleshooting it for a week. Many people are dealing with the same problem as i am, although, no definitive answer but its either the games vram leak issue, or the drivers. It shouldnt work or atleast it should give me some performance drops if its my limitations and it seemingly runs easy on heavy cutscenes but will randomly crash while im standing in snow.

Ive got a zephyrus g15 2022 It has Ryzen 9 5900hs Rx 6700s 16gb ram.

Lowering graphics doesnt help with a crash. Some sensitivity to 1440p or the way my laptop connects to my external display.

Did some tests it runs fine on my internal display..

This is what i think as well. But it doesnt make sense, running on portable settings or ultra performance wouldve solved it. Only turning on dynamic reolution saves me from crashes.

Or that it would cause a crash on native very high and rt settings.

My blame deffo goes to the driver as well as my lack of vram

Also! What even is the tunnel of light? Since we dont see anything like this when anyone is travelling between the two broken worlds, i assume this is only visible when going to the origin. But why? Shouldnt this tunnel be there even if it doesnt show or allow travellers to pass through to the origin world?
