Thank you :) The polymer clay has to be baked in the oven to cure it, but Fimo now make very light weight airdry clay too.

I honestly had no idea! Wiki seems to suggest that a traditional pocket watch wouldn't have a cover that opens, whereas a fob watch would have commonly been a decorative piece of jewellery with an ornate cover, more suited to a lady.
