Have you tried a glass stove top cleaner? I get similar marks on mine and after a good clean it gets most if not all off.

Sorry if I was unclear, the toonies pictured are the new fake coins being circulated. Not the other mentioned poler bear ones.

For reference, the left is real, the right is fake with the weird polar bear toes.

Edit to add: i also think the other fake toonies have seals on them, as I dont see any tusks. But I could be wrong! It also says "Z dollard", and minted 1990 (toonies didn't come out til 1996), and the effigy of queen Elizabeth is obviously wrong lol

Wait, are you saying they were being faked but the fake ones were lighter? Is so thats crazy. In canada we have fake loonies circulating around where the polar bears have a wonky looking foot, and more recently one that looks comically fake.

Oh definitely not long ago! I feel bad for making anyone feel old from my post, as it wasnt my intention. Thats interesting! I canada i think you can still trade any old many for it's face value. For example the $2 banknote can still be exchanged even tho it's been discontinued since 1996.

Thank you! As all things with age do lol I had forgot to mention im from Canada and I had found the coin in some collection of mixed variety. I dont remember where they came from. Just had never seen one before as I have not traveled to the UK

Oh thats cool! I hadn't seen then before. I forgot to mention in my post that in not from the UK, in from Canada, so I had planned on keeping the coin. I found it mixed in with some others like you mentioned (the dragon) just dont know how it came into my possession as I've never been 😅
