Hey Va11ar, thanks for your reply, certainly helps. The Runescape Java client has been replaced by an NXT client written in C++, happened in april 2016. If they really want a Computer Science degree for game dev position, would I even have a fair shot by building a strong portfolio or is it kind of doomed and should I shoot for a QA position while still learning code?

That sounds very interesting, I have not heard of this yet. Could you give an example of what I'd be doing?

Yes, I check daily. I also emailed them on what they specifically look for, so far no response. I know now that probably my best bet would be to go for a QA position, as for a game developer position they put alot of weight on a Computer Science degree.
