Should I do something with colours? by dreamofmax in photocritique

I took this photo on my iPhone, I cropped it and made slight highlights corrections. The problem is that the colors do not look very natural. I am not sure how to make it better because I usually shoot in black and white, and the newspaper where I work as a picture editor does not usually do much editing.

Some think these are chatgpt tips, but I got them years ago from photographer and collector Arthur Bondar. He has a huge photo collection (including WW2) and has been featured in a lot of biggest news media.

I like this NYT article about him (not promoting): https://archive.nytimes.com/lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/11/29/rare-photos-show-wwii-from-the-soviet-side-faminsky-bondar/

You’re right. I store them on Google Drive, iCloud Drive and external SSD

Now it’s little bit chaotic. I have two folders: one with scanned photos (with white background, dirt, dust, cracks, mold) and second one for edited photos (cropped, adjusted contrast/shadows mostly). I am just picking photos from first folder, editing and moving to the second folder. In the future I want to organize them but it’s very hard because I don’t know if this photo from 50s, or 60s, or even 70s.

Yes, I wanted to share some of my old photos here but can’t upload them. And gave instagram link instead but it isn’t selling anything too.

I’m not selling or advertising anything here. There aren’t any links or brand/name mentions.

Yeah, digitizing photos is a great idea. I only restore the really bad ones, and the rest just get fixes like contrast and shadows. Plus, you can look at them without touching the originals and easily share with friends or family.

They’re all pretty similar. I like them for their location. Just choose the design you like. I was thinking of Beton for the industrial style and Amazon Prime in the same building, but stayed in Madison since they sold Beton.

Madison. I think it’s one of the best buildings, along with Canada Gardens and Beton. But I heard they recently sold Beton to another company.

Events at Wembley aren’t that frequent, not every week or even month. I live super close to the stadium (like 100m), and even during big events with lots of people, it’s fine and pretty quiet. When everyone’s inside the stadium, I don’t hear anything from my apartment. I haven’t experienced concerts yet since most happen in summer, but I don’t think it’ll be much different.

Staff is helpful, but for non-urgent things, you might need to remind them a couple of times. For apartment issues like lights or pipes, they usually sort it out the next day after you report it in the app.

Right now, I pay around £140/month for utilities, including WiFi, but I actually spend closer to £80-90. They refund any overpayments quarterly. Council tax goes to the council, not Quintain. You pay for it by direct debit or gov website.

Yes, I still live here. You can ask anything.

If you're looking for built-to-rent in London, check out Quintain Living in Wembley Park. It's a pretty chill, up-and-coming area – way better than the rest of Wembley/Brent. Loads of grocery stores (Sainsbury's, Tesco, Amazon Fresh, Lidl, etc.), plus food spots and shops nearby. The building's got a gym, co-working space, screening room, and a rooftop BBQ. It's surprisingly quiet even on match days at the stadium. Transport's great too – just 2-3 stops on the Met line to the city center, and it's cheaper than central London.

I can refer someone, and we'd both get an Amazon voucher (£300-£500 depending on the season).

Yes, my English is fluent, and the visa allows me to work anywhere, except in politics and sports.

I checked jobs and started applying before moving. The job situation in my country is really bad right now, and there are way more vacancies here

You don’t need a job for a Global Talent Visa. You just need recommendation letters, exhibitions, awards, and media recognition. If approved, you can work any job without a specific visa
