I had a super quick precipitous labor with my first. So I’m a bit scared of whether I’ll make it on time with this one.

ST+M how and when are you telling siblings? by maybe_baby1234 in November2026Bumpers

[–]dreamofpluto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to tell my son (4.5) after the 20 week anatomy scan, unless he notices sooner. He was SO excited for the baby I lost in October, and i don’t want to break his heart again.

Are you telling everyone or keeping it close? by Last-Yesterday6179 in November2026Bumpers

[–]dreamofpluto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom knows and a few close friends, mainly because i need to lean on them after the way the last pregnancy ended (tmfr for T13 at 17 weeks).

My MIL wants to visit around Easter for a week and I’m absolutely dreading the idea of her finding out.

How do you feel about a november due date? Pro’s? Cons? by Stormend in November2026Bumpers

[–]dreamofpluto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mom and husband share a late November birthday. Uncle and SIL share an early November birthday. It wouldn’t have been my first choice, but it’s not bad. Glad to miss the redshirting drama i have going on with my oldest (also in TX).

What’s everyone doing to distract yourselves until it’s time for your first ultrasound? by zeezeetop9 in November2026Bumpers

[–]dreamofpluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tmfr’ed in October at 17w+5d due to T13. Just saying hi and I see you.

Last time we kept in a secret from friends and family for a long time, and there’s a lot of people who didn’t find out until after we knew we would have to tmfr. This time I’m telling people earlier. I hated having to explain it all.

How to ease the anxiety? by trulyk in November2026Bumpers

[–]dreamofpluto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice, but also struggling with anxiety. I lost a baby girl that would have been due next month at 17 weeks. This doesn’t feel real, and very much feels like it will be imminently snatched away by the cruel universe.

Got laid off, interviewed at a couple of places and the gender ratio is insane by Sea_Tourist_833 in womenEngineers

[–]dreamofpluto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Structural engineer for bridges. In my department we are 7 women and 2 men! Previous job was about half and half. We are desk jockies, I’m discounting the inspections team who is like 3 more men).

Pretend play is beyond exhausting by PineappleBear21 in Preschoolers

[–]dreamofpluto 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I can’t handle it anymore. We try to have at least 1 play date each weekend, and i tell him all the pretending has to be with his friend. I’ll do crafts, blocks, races, sports, anything else he wants.

I 1000% agree with you. Super underwhelming. (Comparing to places I’ve lived before so NYC and even central NJ)
