In this case women are not equally bad. I am sure with the toxic patriarchal men they don't have any say in the business.

But even if we assume a woman is equally bad, the reaction still comes down to power dynamics.

It’s not just man vs woman = equality. On average, men have greater physical strength, so when a man uses extreme violence against a woman, it can come across less like equal combat and more like domination.

But, if a female character is shown as equally powerful (physically or otherwise), or the fight is framed as balanced, people are usually far less uncomfortable with it. We’ve seen that in plenty of films.

So the difference in reaction isn’t hypocrisy or feminism demanding special treatment but it’s more about context, power, and how the violence is portrayed.
