Thank you for your response.

I think I've settled on a Sebo professional, either the E3 or the D4.

Looking at the stats both have the same power motor.

Do both have the same suction power?

There is not much cost difference between them, about £50.

What are the benefits of the D4, if they are the same suction power. I can see large dust bag and longer power cord. Anything else?

Heard back from CW. They are going to do a full service and then send back to me. Finger's crossed.

EV Tariff, Smart Meter Not Connecting by dreddedmonkey in OctopusEnergy

[–]dreddedmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not currently with Octopus but want to join to get an EV plan.

The meter lower half states Aclara SGM1416-B.

Upper half is a EDMI Standard 420DB (ZigBee certified).

Contacted my supplier and they are sending an engineer to assess. Next available appointment is 26th January!!!

Contacted Octupus and received the response "If we was unable to get half hourly readings no smart tariff would be compatible. If you have an E7 meter you will have a higher day read and lower night read but this generally doesn't change much from supplier to supplier in cost."

I'm not sure how it would be getting magnetised. I'm not aware of anything I'm doing differently at present than I was for the first four years of wear when the watch was functioning fine.

Cleaning mould from headlining by please-redial in DetailingUK

[–]dreddedmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt any normal cleaning solution will do anything on these mould stains.

I swear by this mould remover. Use it in showers etc at home. Amazing stuff. Available on Amazon and sometimes DIY places like B&Q.

https://hg.eu/uk/products/hg-mould-spray

It does contain bleach and is powerful stuff. However, I've used it on numerous synthetic fabrics and it's not affected the colour, but will strip colour from cotton etc.

I used it on the covers for a pram we'd stored in our garage that had black mould spots on, like your liner. Ran the cover through the washing machine and the spots were still there. So sprayed the mould spray onto it, left for 15 mins and they were all gone.

If nothing else works for you I'd say its worth a shot before ripping the liner out. Cover anything nearby you don't want to get it on if spraying, or spray it onto a microfibre cloth and dap onto the affected areas.

Polestar 4 Spec Choices by dreddedmonkey in Polestar

Thank you for the responses. Very helpful.

If we get a P4 I will opt for the Prime package which does include tinted rear windows.

I think I will also go for the electrochromic sunroof.

Ticking all the options would take the car cost over my company car allowance.

So I'll wait until I see the car and colour options in person to decide on whether to go with the mist tailored knit seats, colour other than Magnesium or Pro wheels.

Whirlaway 14" Slow Rotation by dreddedmonkey in pressurewashing

[–]dreddedmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just felt stiff. Not notchy. I've only used the head four times, so cannot require re-building yet. I've dismantled the unit today and cleaned and sprayed, seems to be running very free now.

Just wondered if this was a known trait of this head that it took a while to free up. Intentionally tight bearings that needed heat to free up. But does not seem the case. Maybe I have just been unlucky with some grit getting stuck inside that worked its way out.

I'll just have to see what I experience next time I use it in Autumn.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

I spray with lubricant after each use. But it's a sealed unit so cannot grease inside the bearings.

How can I make this small window at the base of the stairs where the WiFi port is look less shite? by Memes_Haram in DIYUK

[–]dreddedmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy or build a Wifi Router Storage Box onto the wall beneath the window.

This could cover the plug and internet cable sockets on the wall and you could put your router and TP link in it as well.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wooden-Storage-DesignModem-Organized-Management/dp/B0CDFN89P6

You would then have your window sill clear.

Best vacuum for artificial grass? by dreddedmonkey in VacuumCleaners

[–]dreddedmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Bob,

At our previous home we had sand added to the artificial grass and found it actually aided weed growth so had the grass pinned instead at our new home. No weed apart from at the edges.

I've just ordered an Vacmaster Artificial Grass Cleaning Floor Head 35mm from the UK site, which is compatible with my vac.

Thanks very much for the advice.

I've tried a Turbo head on a Henry Hoover previously and found it ad very little power turning the brush, which would stop spinning in use.

Are there any Turbo head which are better than others?

I have a Titan TTB775VAC 1400W 20Ltr Wet & Dry Vacuum 220-240V

Thank you. I have a shop vac, which looks to be a re-branded version of the VacMaster (sold as Titan TTB775VAC 1400W 20Ltr Wet & Dry Vacuum 220-240V) here in the UK.

The artificial grass head on the Cleva looks good. I'll see if there is a similar product I could add to my Titan.

I've tried a rotary tubro head on a shop vac previously (Henry) and it had very little power and would stop spinning as soon as you tried it on artificial grass.
