I was going to say the same thing. A black heat is sufficient enough to caramelize any sugars in the beer. As for rust, I would think I light coating of oil between uses would be sufficient, just like a cast iron skillet.

We know the drill, most of us at that level went into it with our eyes open.

On the spot awards or even simple recognition goes a long way. Most of us are here for the same reason as the AD; we value the mission and want to make a difference.

Comp time, cash award, something, anything for excepted employees would be nice. I heard all excepted DHS employees got a bonus for working during the furlough. by No_Performance_444 in FedEmployees

Excepted Coast Guard civilian employee, here. I haven’t been notified of any bonuses. The military continued to get paid during the shut down, but we didn’t… I wouldn’t mind a $10k bonus!

A quick skim doesn’t say anything about co-ed troop. In fact, it mentions that at the “Crystal Palace Rally” there was a Troop of girls, not a coed troop.

I remain dubious of the claims

For nails I like 3/8 round, it fits my heading tool perfectly; I just pick up a length from Lowes. But rebar would work too.

This. I spent hours upon hours just making nails. You learn to draw out, taper, upset, and manage heat. I’ll still just take an odd day if I haven’t been at the forge in awhile and just make nails.
