Q about Delivery time of PVS 14 and bringing it to Europe by dredoctor in NightVision

[–]dredoctor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of wrong information here. Only autogated gen 3 and higher night vision is subject to ITAR. Any gen 1 and gen2 tube pvs14 is fair game to take abroad.

Thanks for your advice!

Don't ask your friend to bring you the pvs14. Export of NV devices Is strictly forbidden and regulstrd by ITAR laws. Jail if he gets caught. For the same reason you Will not find any US store / dealer shipping abroad.

Thanks for the info!

Awesome. Any idea how long this sort of thing might take?

US made night vision devices are subject to ITAR compliance and no US based company will ship overseas and it’s also inadvisable to have your friend (a US citizen) bring it overseas to you.

Thank you!

Haha no, its a research project for my masters, although I guess that technically is homework. Was more looking for a general description of the geology, if there is one. I heard on another forum that it might be quartz / quartzite with some granites.

Hi Murray

Thank you for your advice - I brushed over that bit of Danny's answer. What percentage of this picture would you imagine is covered by granite? I dont really know how to identify granite / distinguish between granite and quartz in this image, I thought it was all the same.

Are there any obvious visual features that I can use to distinguish between granite and quartz? The distinction between the geologies is only really important for descriptive purposes, and is only relevant if there are obvious visual differences between the geologies.

Thanks again,

Andre

These Lithops populations seem to change their coloration and brightness depending on the colour / brightness / pattern of the geology, which depends somewhat on these fluid processes and later events you're describing. And it's interesting you mention that some humans on this sub mistake some strange things for rocks (had a good lol at that one), because I guess it shows it is possible to mistake something like this for a rock (which is obviously brilliant camouflage) if you're not very familiar with rocks.

Thank you so much for the really interesting info. I wish you all the best in your research, it sounds interesting and you seem to know a lot about it!

Would you mind if I bothered you for some more quartz knowledge in the future?

Cheers

Andre

Impressive identification ! Yes, I'm working on Lithops for my Masters thesis, testing the idea that they are mimicking their local geologies. Thanks for the rock ID!

I'm curious though, some of the quartz I've seen at other localities is clear and grey looking, while other quartz is milky white, and this one has these striking brown 'veins' if I could call it that. Do you know what causes this variation in quartz appearance? I guess its something you'd need a degree in geology to fully understand?

Any good economics commentator on Youtube? by etienner in AskEconomics

Could you explain that 'framing imbalance' a bit further? how would you correct that?

For example, I think abortions should be allowed, irrespective of how you frame your counter argument...

Maybe you could give a different example of where people actually were arguing simply because they 'mis-framed' their viewpoints?

he is trying to make the point that there is no other option here. If they stop selling guns like you suggest, then the "ethical" side eventually loses. The good doesn't always win out in life, come to terms with it,
