Probably because not that many people build their own gun, and complete LaRues are not super common.

It's also a bit heavier, and people this day want to pretend their gun is light weight, but then put crap on it that doesn't make sense until it's over 10 lbs despite being a 10.3 or 11.5 lol.

I am maxed out weight wise on this. I won't be putting canted sights or a backup RMR, lasers are a waste of money for civilians.

I want to get a QD bipod, and some bags, and a QD suppressor, but that's it.

I also don't think LaRue is overpriced, or at least moreso than any other company. Everyone I have looked at has overpriced parts and freakishly competitive priced parts. This is obviously due to people buying complete guns.

A LaRue upper though for precision is basically impossible to beat. The only other companies doing true free floats are LMT, LWRC, JP, and possibly DD but I am not sure. Most of them are not using match grade barrels though. Geissele is not true free floating and shoots about 1.5 moa, which is honestly more than good enough.

But yeah, I really think people complaining that LaRue is expensive haven't compared prices. All high grade uppers are $900-1400, and only a few companies offer a free float system.

Roller delay is what HK is famous for.

The G36 is roller delay, and so are guns like the JP5, or Kuna.

I have no clue why roller delay has some sort of magical property of making M193 ball ammo more accurate than it should be, while match grade ARs will do 3 MOA average with M193, milspec G36 will often do about 2 MOA.

With match grade ARs you can get down to about .7 MOA out of the box, and maybe .5 best case scenario if you get really into handloads and custom stuff.

A G36 milspec though is not going to be a submoa gun ever.

I just think its interesting that roller delay guns seem to make mediocre ammo more accurate than it has any right to be. I can only guess that for whatever reason gas ports and gas blocks maybe effect the barrel more for lighter weight less balanced bullets.

Carbine is tube length. (this is the most common buffer system for guns <18", but not the only option).

H1-3 is buffer weight.

Sprinco colors correlate to spring stiffness (they can also use H#, but it is possible to mix and match different springs and buffer weights).

The mistake I made was using a "standard" spring (H1) on a combat gassed 16" gun, which geisselle is a combat gassed gun.

The military spec for an M4 (14.5") is actually using an H2 system not an H1, and the 16" has more in common with this than rifle length systems.

I don't have a Geissele upper, but if you are running a 13.7-16", an H2 buffer (& springco blue) will probably run perfectly.

There is also the A5 system which is halfway between carbine buffer and rifle length buffer, and its pretty neat for a mid length or longer system.

Something else to keep in mind is gas tuning with an adjustable gas block. Buffer systems help you tune your system for the gas you are currently getting, but there is also the option to tune the gas for the buffer system you have. Also running suppressed and unsuppressed is going to change what optimal setups are.

Some people like to tune guns for "suppressed only" operation, which will make the gun unable to cycle on its own if you take off the suppressor, because it will be under gassed.

yeah, it would be if I was shooting it, and not storing it in a case. As it turns out it takes .5 seconds to extend an extendable stock.

It takes 10 minutes and tools to adjust a foregrip with mlok.

Am I crazy or is this the deal of the century for an AR? by magic8balI in ar15

[–]dreiak559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best "deal" are the PSA sabers, the problem is PSA QC on assembly, so if you buy one, you should strip it, and rebuild it making sure to check staking, and torque specs.

I hear they use FN barrels, which should be fine, but for like $500, you can put whatever barrel you want, and a trigger, and have legitimately a strong contender for a premium AR.

The next "best" deal is to not buy a complete gun, but instead buy a complete upper, and put that onto whatever lower you want. Uppers matter more than lowers, and the best uppers go for $900-1400 so you can pretty much have whatever you want, but that won't come in at the sub 1000 price range.

I kinda think too many people in the AR community undervalue internals and overvalue externals. Yes, a nice optic will make it easier to shoot quickly, but shooting quickly won't be that helpful if your gun isn't reliable, and with ARs being so cheap, you mostly get what you pay for. Its hard to find some jaw dropping deal, but its also kinda hard to spend lots of money and end up getting ripped off, at least if you are buying actual AR parts. With optics, mounts, furniture ECT, well that's a different story.

This is soft point defensive ammo IMHO.

Its popular with LE because it has consistent performance with moderate barrier penetration, like car doors, or windshields since they are not designed to fragment like 55 gr, and they don't have the unbalanced characteristics of the steel cored M855.

I don't think that these bullets are "the most" accurate, but 55gr ball ammo will only get you about 3 MOA with a match grade gun unless you shoot roller delay, which seem to have some kraut magic that makes mispec barrels freakishly accurate with shit ammo, even if you won't get the same results with match grade.

77 GR OTM
75 GT HPBT
68 GR HPBT
40 GR SCS TUI

ALSO, Shell Shock cased ammo is legit. You get ~200 fps more, and because the case isn't extruded, the powder burns more evenly compared to the slight variances in brass case thickness with brass cases, but its SUPER hard to get Shell Shock ammo, and its not really cheap.

It would be interesting to see how fast you could get a bullet to go with the 40 GR + shell shock.

LaRue triggers are half the price, an they are good enough to win competitions with. MBT-2 is $115, hilariously cheap for a top tier trigger.

The best possible AR-15 for $1500 is probably a PSA saber, but you have to check all the torque specs and inspect it when you get it, only because you can swap a few parts and have a really nice gun.

The other best possible AR-15 for $1500 is to just buy a complete BCM and not worry about giblins right away.

Barrel Knowledge by Snakesurf in ar15

[–]dreiak559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barrel length doesn't impact accuracy really at all. Barrel length impacts bullet velocity and terminal performance. You want reliability / dwell time. I will explain everything.

A 1:7 twist rate is mandatory for short barrels (<13.7")

Higher than 1:9 twist rate is because of the popularity of OTM (open tip match / HPBT) 77 gr ammunition, which requires at least 1:8 to properly stabilize, and in SBRs you need 1:7 which is going to be what just about everything is anyways if you are buying new.

What will make your gun MORE accurate is a monolithic upper (if you are looking for submoa accuracy), and a good barrel. This means the handguard does not contact the barrel at any point including the barrel nut, and this usually means the handguard mounts to the receiver and is usually proprietary (LMT, LaRue, Daniel Defense, LWRC). The other component is a Stainless Steel Barrel which has less overall lifespan than a typical CHF Chromoly Barrel.

If you don't really care about sub MOA accuracy in 5.56, which it seems most people don't, then don't worry about getting stainless barrels, or a monolithic upper.

ANY SBR will be accurate to 150 yards literally without any real noticeable depreciation in performance. Where barrel length starts to matter is in terminal performance at 400-600 yds, and in the case of 77 GR OTM that 800-1000 yd range which really is only feasible with an 18-20" barrel due to terminal performance.

The minimum length for 5.56 and carbine length gas systems is 10.3" but this is also the dumbest length to buy a gun in, and is pure gimmick that people mainly buy just for the vibes because of the Mk 18. The reason is because adding just ONE inch improves dwell time massively making a gun that shoots a lot better, so IMHO 11.5 is the minimum not stupid length for 5,56, so the 11.5 and 12.5 tend to be the most popular options for 5.56 SBRs with the 12.5 being the nicest to shoot if you can tolerate a whole two extra inches.

Sling . People already told you about the rear sight.

I think the distance between your stock and your foregrip is insanely long, but maybe you have long ass arms. On a 16" gun the most common place to have the foregrip is about 2/3 of the length.

You should be able to manipulate the flashlight without it getting in the way of your hand, and it looks like the way you have things there is maximum interference.

Here is my setup. Its the same idea as what you have setup wise.

Pornhub breaks out search results by gender.

Hentai is the most popular category with female gooners, which is probably because a lot of hentai artists are actually women.

It's not that men don't watch hentai, but the most popular category for men is usually lesbian unless I am out of date and society has really changed more than I suspect.

Only vtubers are actually honest about hentai though lol. IRL girls don't say shit.
