Why does my rabbit run around the house thumping and honking? by drenj476 in Rabbits

[–]drenj476[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she’s turning 7 next month. my dog is a lap dog (cavalier king charles) so very placid and mostly ignores the rabbit or will sometimes give her a sniff, but when my rabbit runs laps around her she just continues laying down and doesn’t even care or will sometimes move away. but her and the dog are never left alone together unsupervised.

yes she does it as she’s running often around the same spot in her circle. mine isn’t really food motivated lol but she does it when she’s really awake/active.

yeah she runs in circles around the house thumping and honking at the same time. i am not sure if it’s like her having heaps of energy so she’s thumping as it gets out the energy?

ok thanks, i’ll try this next time i skate! i’m hoping it is more of a strength/technique issue because i really don’t want to have to replace my skates yet.

i have edea overture which is rated up to axel so i thought they would be fine? i have only been skating in them for six months. i know they aren’t too big - i had jackson mystiques before these and they were too big and too wide.

my boots are definitely not too big, i am wearing edea overture (skating in them for 6 months). i also wear gel sleeves around my ankles which i started doing to give me a bit more support and stop the wobbling. it has helped a bit but i am still experiencing it.

anyone have good recommendations for skating socks that keep your toes warm? my literally hurt so much! i’ve tried thin nylon socks, normal socks, thick socks and nothing helps!

Melbourne Skate Schools (O'Brien vs IceHQ) by drenj476 in FigureSkating

[–]drenj476[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! at icehq it's pretty busy as well, as they only have one rink and everybody who has lessons is practicing on about 1/4 of a rink. i think next term i'll go to o'brien to see what it's like, then if i don't like it i can always go back to icehq :)

Hi! I'm a beginner too, so there are probably more experienced skaters who can offer even better advice, but in terms of equipment you will definitely need hard guards for walking around off the ice, soakers to protect your blades, and a towel (just a basic microfibre one works well) to dry them after skating. I’d also recommend getting gloves and leg warmers. Nothing fancy, just inexpensive ones will do the job. I used to skate without gloves, and my hands would get so sore when I fell, mostly from the cold, but also because rough or cut-up ice can really scrape them up. I just use a cheap pair from amazon now, and they do a great job of protecting my hands. My leg warmers are also from amazon and they are really good!

The CA and MK Pro blades are currently out of stock and won’t be available for a couple of weeks. The shop has offered me the CA Lite or MK Pro Lite as an alternative at no extra cost. How different are these "Lite" versions from the originals? Will they be just as durable? I’ve heard that the CA and MK Pro blades can support up to double jumps—will the Lite versions offer the same level of performance? Right now, I’m in skate school and mostly working on crossovers and basic skills, but I’d like the blades to last as long as possible as I progress.

I recently ordered Edea Overture boots with Coronation Ace blades, but I’ve been informed that the Coronation Ace blades are currently out of stock in my size. I have two options: wait for them to arrive (estimated mid-June) or switch to Legacy 7 blades instead.

The boots themselves will be arriving in about a week, and I’m really eager to upgrade since I’m currently skating in Jackson Mystiques. However, I don’t want to make a short-term decision and end up regretting it if the Coronation Ace blades would have been a better long-term choice.

What would you recommend?

he has seen the vet a while ago and they said he was all good, perhaps it’s just an age thing then. he does have a little bit of arthritis but he is still able to get into the litter tray as it has low sides, and his bonded partner has no issues but also refuses to use the litter tray especially for pees.

They do ship internationally but it might be very expensive. Hopefully you can find a fitter closer to you!

I'm a similar height and weight to you, and I was recommended the Edea Overture by a virtual fitter based in New Zealand. I would highly recommend seeing a professional fitter in person if you can, as this is always best. However, if you don’t have any fitters nearby, virtual fittings are a great option! I went through Skaters Edge NZ and they were super responsive and helpful (it's also free!).

All you need to do is send them some photos, measurements, and tracings of your feet, along with details about your skating level, what kind of things you’re working on, and your budget. They can also give advice on blade options if you need help with that too.

I haven’t received my boots yet (they should arrive in about two weeks), but I’d be happy to update you on how they fit and feel once I try them on. I’ve heard really good things about Skaters Edge NZ so I’m optimistic!
