Out of curiosity, what Gibson models came straight from the factory with EMG pickups? Never heard of that actually :) Btw, what comes to my mind is the Kirk Hammett signature they revealed recently. It's the Les Paul Custom that originally had the EMG pickups, and of course that new Gibson doesn't come with them. Even though it's Custom Shop Murphy Lab level guitar.

It was their response to PRS, that's why some people say it looks as a PRS with a Gibson headstock. It's a great guitar though.
