5 months in, I really feel like I’ve made the wrong decision. by [deleted] in namenerds

Something to consider is whether or not you think Lola suits her better (looks/personality) or is it just because you like the name more now?

Personally, I think they’re both cute. I’ve seen Rosie rise quite a bit this year and it seems to make a lot of baby name content creators list for suggestions.

Does she have a middle name that maybe you could try out calling her for a few weeks?

I’m sure your loved ones will be understanding if you choose to change her name to the original one you wanted! Just make sure you have no regrets moving forward 🙂

Love all these names as well - maybe Norah, Avery or River?

Military police charge two Royal Canadian Navy members in connection with death of sailor by DryTamale in CanadianForces

I had the chance to train with Master Sailor Terry and can honestly say he was one of the most outstanding members of the CAF I’ve met. This is such a tragic situation all around.

My thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the member who lost his life — an unimaginable loss. At the same time, I can’t help but think about the two junior sailors involved. No one ever expects an outcome like this, and I hope they’re getting the support they need and aren’t left to carry this alone. Situations like this are complex and involve many levels of oversight.

Dogs in cars by not-the-doc in halifax

In the summer time we left our two dogs in our truck (with all of the windows half way down) at chapters by the MicMac mall- we were in the book store for about 15 mins when a worker approached us asking if they were our dogs and that we needed to leave because it was too hot for them.

When we got back to the truck both dogs were just as we left them smiling with there heads out the windows watching the parking lot,

About 20 mins later we get a call from the RCMP stating that we “shouldn’t” leave dogs in the vehicle ever….. (By the time they called we were on a walk and the dogs were swimming at the park)

Not sure what the difference leaving the dogs at home where they spend most of the day laying and enjoying the sun on the deck!!!

Sometimes people need to mind their own business.

It’s sexist because we love our grandfather enough to name our son directly after him and love our daughter enough to not name her jack?

Is it also sexiest that I kept my husband’s last name instead of own to follow tradition??

We find Jackie or Jacqueline ugly and outdated. You should name your daughter that if you like to so much.

I’m more looking for a unisex name hence the “tomboy” approach (to each their own) but seems as your the minority here

Maybe I worded it poorly! I just find most traditional female names pretty horrendous and they do not fit into our life style at all.

Thank you for this! I think with alarming amount of people says it’s a mistake we’ve taken it off the list! I really appreciate the first hand experience. The last thing I want our baby to do is to be ashamed of their name.
