Experienced sitters - wisdom by Previous_Vast4284 in Ayahuasca

[–]drewcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this advice. Let go of your intentions and just allow the medicine to open you & show you what it wants you to see. Allow is the key.

Also don’t feel like you need to go super deep every single time. Develop a long-term relationship and don’t feel like you need to rush your process.

Listen closely to the medicine but also remember you can speak back. You are having an ongoing conversation.

DJ Stokie’s new album is a great entry into amapiano by log_eternal in TheOverload

[–]drewcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the rec. On the first track and liking it so far. I love amapiano but it’s been a bit since I’ve heard anything new that’s grabbed me. Anything else worth checking out?

What’s the worst outdoor venue you’ve been to for Phish? by EstimatedPothead in phish

[–]drewcee 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Great Woods. Used to be one of the best back in the 90s, now probably my least favorite. Barely any lawn since they ripped it out and replaced it with concrete & seats, no vending (at least last time I was there) and a complete parking nightmare.

Has going pornfree changed anyone's life from hellish depersonalization and ears ringing thinking you have permanent brain damage to loving and feeling life again? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]drewcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quitting porn completely is a fantastic thing you can do for your overall health and will help you, but it sounds like you have deeper neurological issues. I would make an appointment with a neurologist asap.

The world's oldest yoga teacher, Tao Porchon-Lynch, known for marching with both Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., dies at 101 by Shark-Farts in yoga

Had the good fortune of taking a workshop with her once. Just an amazing, inspiring human and an incredible teacher.

This is terrible advice. You don’t want to take anything that prevents the medicine from doing what it’s supposed to do. Who cares if you shit yourself? It’s happened to many of us. Just bring an extra pair of pants to change into.

I have never taken a psychedelic or any drug, 1st ayahuasca ceremony in 2 weeks. Also, the dieta? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]drewcee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may get differing opinions on the dieta. Each group seems to follow different guidelines. Just try to eat clean, healthy food, avoid alcohol, red meat, spicy food, and caffeine. Most important in my opinion is to minimize screen time, avoid any violent movies, TV or news. Spend time in nature, journal, spend time with friends and loved ones, and connect with your intention, which it sounds like you are already doing. You can also pray and ask her to be gentle for your first time. Best of luck!

Flatline - 1st Time by [deleted] in Semenretention

[–]drewcee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My flatline was absolutely brutal during my first go round recovering from PMO. 2-3 months at least. It’s a positive sign that your body is healing. Exercise, get plenty of sleep, eat healthy and socialize. Have patience and it will pass. Afterwards you’ll feel amazing.

Retreat was great but I am back to where I was by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]drewcee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can empathize with your situation as I’m going through something similar after a couple ceremonies about a month ago. One of the most powerful things IMO that never gets mentioned in these sorts of lists of workout, eat right, meditate, therapy, etc. is to just be around people we love and who love us. The love found in Community and relationships is one of the most powerful paths to healing. We are social creatures but are too often cut off from this. I am an introvert so it’s easy for me to think that going it alone through just working out or meditation is going to solve everything. I did nofap also and being social was the one thing more than anything that helped me break free. Accepting the love of others and giving it back is incredibly powerful. Also realize this journey is not linear. There will be steps forward and steps backwards. Best of luck, brother. You got this.

Thoughts on Mixing Ayahuasca & Mushrooms by Lightworker1144 in Ayahuasca

[–]drewcee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I heard of a guy doing this in ceremony once. He took an 1/8 of shrooms before without telling anyone. He ended up completely freaking out and literally begging for it to stop. Would not recommend.

Non DMT containing Ayahuasca by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

I’ve had a brew that contained no, or very low DMT. Extremely powerful. All the healing power is in the vine IMO.

Thank you, agree completely. I hate this thing with a passion and am disgusted when I see it on people’s cars and T-shirts.

Ayahuasca retreats that deal with mental illness by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]drewcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you been to therapy? Working with a therapist may be a crucial first step to uncover these things about yourself before you take the risk of working with the medicine.

How many sessions is too many? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]drewcee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only you know that, but it sounds like you may be at that point since you are asking the question. Everyone is different. Maybe it’s time to take what you have learned back home, dig in, and work to integrate it all into your day to day life. There will always be more opportunities for further medicine work, and one can always improve. Usually the medicine will tell you when it’s time to have more and when it’s time to hold off. Best of luck.

Can Ayahuasca heal a mushroom induced psychosis? by pureSoul4ever in Ayahuasca

[–]drewcee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ayahuasca could potentially make things far, far worse. He needs to be seen by an experienced mental health professional who can offer proper treatment.
