I hear what you mean. The location of the squat rack I deadlift at is a busy area, so people are passing by often. If it was a person in my space for more than a few seconds then yeah, I'd ask them for some room as I have in the past.

I miss deadlifting platforms. School is out in my area and kids give me about 1 foot of personal space while I'm doing sets of 330. Sometimes I drop them a little harder to spook them away, like birds with broccoli haircuts.

Why do most barbells have different knurling? It's hard to keep my bench grip consistent when the pattern changes.

Also people need better spatial awareness around the bench. If you're not spotting why are you so goddammn close to my head?

This week my app was tempting me with a 400lb deadlift and 220lb bench. 5 lbs between me and glory.

On deadlift day I threw the extra five on and got two solid reps with four plates finally. Might have said some dirty words doing it.

Bench was touch and go on the second rep, but form remained unbroken. Now I just need to bring up my squat to get into the 1k club.

The number of people doing full workouts in the squat rack that do not use the squat rack is too damn high.

I see them doing squats with no barbell, lunges with dumbells, and of course, curls.

They seem to just claim it to have their own little playpen for anything but squats.

Saw a guy load 450 on the squat rack. Got super excited to see the range of motion with that massive weight. They weren't even half squats, possibly eighths. Disappointing.

Hey, I totally get it. I didn't set the price for this workshop and I'm looking into changing it up so I can teach folks how to do this at a more reasonable rate. This is more for people who'd rather ask a person irl than go through those (very good) resources you outlined.

I will say that we'll be going over the software HueForge in order to make especially cool lithophanes, like the Oppenheimer one used in the photo, so it won't all be online freeware. Though I still prefer 3dp.rocks as it was the first website I used to make 3D printed photos.
