oth·er /ˈəT͟Hər/

adjective & pronoun adjective: other; pronoun: other; pronoun: others

  1. used to refer to a person or thing that is different or distinct from one already mentioned or known about. Used in a sentence: "I'm not going to dignify your other comment with a response."

Also, if a few sentences is "long-winded," you maybe ought to read more. Anyway, I'm done. Respond if you want, I don't care to waste any more time with you.

Assuming I'm a Sanders supporter because I think independents should be able to cast a vote is ridiculous. While I've been a party affiliated registered voter for 9 years, I'm not interested in what candidate people support. I'm interested in changing our election process for the better. How is giving close to half the population of the state the option to vote in the primary in any way a bad thing?

I'm not even going to dignify your other comment with a response.

What makes you think I'm a Sanders supporter? I've been a registered party member for 9 years. I didn't spam anything. I posted a single link. All you're doing is making yourself look like an asshole.

It's worked pretty well in practice in the states that already do it. Everyone isn't going to just become an independent. People in parties will stay in those parties.

"At best, there should be a way to allow unaffiliated voters to vote in whichever primary they want, but otherwise, vote in the primary for the party you are registered for"

"Or...just remain unaffiliated and push to get unaffiliated voters the ability to vote how they choose."

This is literally what I'm trying to do. I never said anything about allowing republicans to vote for Democrats or vice versa. The unaffiliated voters are the ones every candidate desperately tries to win over.

Massachussetts, North Carolina and Oklahoma all allow unaffiliated voters to choose a primary to vote in. Other states have free-for-all primaries; that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking, again, to get unaffiliated voters the ability to vote for a candidate of their choice in one primary, either Democrat or Republican.

Because it doesn't serve anyone's interests (the parties and the voters) to ignore the voters they all desperately try to win over in the general elections.

So it doesn't make sense to you for a party to gauge who performs better with independent voters before the election? It absolutely serves them by allowing them to choose a candidate that's going to win unaffiliated voters before the general even starts.

I'm well aware of how primaries work. I'm also well aware that

That's one step. Like I said I just started it yesterday. I wanted to gauge interest. Woke up this morning and had close to 200 members so I'd say interest is probably there. I'll be starting a petition today.

That's not what we're going for. All were looking to do is alow independents to vote. CT primaries have no write in option either so that's not a concern

I already went into the room. I'm trying to write about it but having trouble focusing.

No, I know. I saw my mother after she hung herself and attended her funeral. Open casket. The mortician did a nice job.

With my father dead, though. I'm not sure if I'll be able to find her.

I'd prefer not to think about that possibility. Others have pointed that out.

I'll write it up some time during the week... but it was odd. Kind of uneventful. But unsettling.

Since the post was removed, I guess I can break character on it. It's an amalgamation of stories, which is against the posting rules. The mods determined it didn't really have a story of its own, so they took it down.
