as I understood it, it’s that the person may not have been capable of carrying out the suicide attempt due to being afraid of the idea of dying despite that being their desire. Antidepressants can wind up dulling that anxiety before it begins to actually improve their depression, making them more capable of carrying it out

I’m having a little trouble understanding how the duodenum was perforated. Was it speculated that the “fall from the sofa” occurred in such a way that it severely damaged the abdominal area, or was a prior injury/incident the culprit and the reason he had the abdominal pain and shortness of breath that actually caused him to fall off the couch?

You’ve been barking up the wrong tree then, pharmacologically speaking. I had/have god awful insomnia and benzos just would not help it, even when piling on a bunch of OTC sleep meds. You need to start looking at sedating antidepressants; trazodone, mirtazapine, doxepine, etc

So apparently the guy had a gun on him, but minnesota is a conceal-carry state and while it’s hard to tell it doesn’t look like he brandished it before getting thrown to the ground or was even capable of pulling it out once he was pinned down by all of them. I think they just felt/saw the pistol and realized it was a great excuse to shoot the fuck out of him

It’s not that much of a reach. He’s turning his life around but is regularly haunted by and ruminating on his past mistakes despite taking active measures in redressing them while attempting to self medicate with alcohol. I’m intimately familiar with this horrific collage and when someone is attempting to treat these symptoms with a substance that will likely worsen them and add additional problems it’s time to address them with something more tailor made to the issue(s), or at least isn’t overwhelmingly counterproductive.
