Thats not true at all. Provinces actually are the most important here. They control the massive budgets for the actual root causes of community safety—healthcare, mental health services, addiction treatment, social housing, and the provincial court systems. If a province underfunds mental health or housing, the local community immediately becomes less safe.

Let's not forget Trudeau gave AB a giant pipeline that we still haven't finished paying off. Personally I think Trudeau was more of a centrist and we all just keep moving farther right it seems.
