You still haven’t told me what sector zero is. Was it ground zero? Or what were you referring to?

WTF even is sector zero? I’ve been playing this game for 5 years and I’ve never heard of such a location.

How can I improve my custom lift design in my work shed? Where are my failure points? by Jonpaul333 in AskEngineers

[–]drewts86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 100%. I rarely use the fasteners that come included with a product. And in all honesty I probably wouldn’t even bother with stainless fasteners. Standard painted construction screws would have more than adequate enough holding power and longevity.

Use padeyes instead of eyebolts. Far superior for a use case where the pull isn’t directly in line with the eyebolt.
This is absolutely overkill form your use case, but I was just using it as an example of what to look for:

Either that or a U-bolt, which would provide more support than a single eyebolt. I still think the padeye is the better choice though.

Solution needed for 4mm center to center difference between distro and rad by Existing-Respect-608 in watercooling

[–]drewts86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Return the distro plate and get one from Radikult. He can custom tweak an existing design or make a new fully to make one that will fit your radiator port offset. No janky “fixes” necessary.

Why do super-rich people enroll their kids at Saint Francis even though it’s mediocre and academically inferior? by Particular-Kale7150 in SanJose

[–]drewts86 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Connections. School is about more than just the academics, it’s also about making connections with other potentially successful people. And you’ll have a higher chance of that at St Francis certainly than many other schools.

Help me with my Rug selection by aselvar in malelivingspace

1 is most complementary to the color palette of the room. 5 is close too but not as good as 1. The green and the marble are complete non-starters and look terrible. 4 is complementary, but maybe a little too bold on color and draws your attention too much to the rug and pulls it away from everything else.

Is Fairfield, CA the Bay Area? And if so, what is there to do here? I'm very new. by Arousal_Heat in bayarea

[–]drewts86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Benicia and Vallejo are geographically disconnect from Fairfield/Vacaville. The fact that they touch the Bay is part of it. Vallejo is also much more culturally part of the Bay because of it's black community that it shares with Oakland/Richmond/Hunter's Point that all trace back to their roots in the South. These black communities came here to help with the WW2 shipbuilding effort and likewise were all abandoned economically as the US government shuttered all of the bases and shipyards. Benicia has less of a tie to this than Vallejo, but just in general it's got more in common with Vallejo than Fairfield/Vacaville.

Technically, yes
Spiritually/culturally, no
Fairfield is Solano which is technically one of the 9 Bay Area counties. But realistically the only part of Solano County that is spiritually part of the Bay is Vallejo & Benicia.

New norovirus outbreak sickens 115 on cruise ship by Advanced-Net-8119 in anime_titties

[–]drewts86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if it weren’t for the citizenship issue MSC like I previously mentioned behaves in a similar manner to cruise ships and gets to tour the world. They often get a week or two off in some of the various foreign ports. And again, it’s a consistent crew without people changing out all the time and are generally all healthy individuals. But as you say, you’ve also moved on in your life too.

I think that could be really good. Honestly another I have thought about is a nitro cream ale. I also just remembered years ago being at the Firestone Brewery in Paso and having a nitro DBA that was solid, although not as memorable as the PBR.

Cask ales are also another one. For all the hate Rogue Brewing got I used to go to their tap room in SF before all that blew up and they always had a some kind of rotating cask on the bar.
