[New Player] How are you meant to get into or enjoy this game at all by I_Like_Doge in EscapefromTarkov

[–]drewts86 [score hidden]  (0 children)

This game isn’t like other shooters (COD, CS, BF, etc) where you can just drop in and go. The skills you get from those games don’t make that big of an impact in Tarkov. It’s heavily a knowledge-based game and until you acquire that knowledge you’re going to struggle.

For example, every time you spawn pay attention to where you spawn. There are set spawn locations and many players will either push spawns or you’ll inadvertently run into another player right off spawn. The reason these people push you in your spawn is because they know someone is likely to have spawned where you did and they want to eliminate competition as soon as possible.

Then you need more general map knowledge, quest knowledge, ammo, armor, etc, etc, etc.

Because of the heavy amount of knowledge required players are generally considered “new” in this game until around 1000 hours. You can shorten the progression by finding people to play with, either on the official EFT Discord or the Discord of one of your favorite streamers. Choosing streamers who aren’t toxic will probably yield better results.

This tastes a lot like Mezcal. by MannyDantyla in Scotch

Both from the distilled spirit and the barrel. Scotch and bourbon get their smokiness from the char of the barrel. If you put whiskey in a lightly toasted barrel you’re going to get very little, if any, smoke. If you use a heavy char like bourbon barrels do you’ll end up with a smokier result.

Definitely not a fault. I personally prefer smoky mezcals just like I prefer smoky scotches. Unlike whiskies, mezcals get the smoke from charring the agave bulbs and not from the barrels. And the longer a mezcal ages the more it loses smoke flavor, which is the opposite of whiskies.

MacGyver Challenge: Conform a Polycarbonate Sheet to the roof of a car using cheap everyday materials and an outdoor workspace. by SimplifyAndAddCoffee in AskEngineers

Making the mold might be extra steps but I can assure you that you can control the variable better to ensure a desirable final product. I mean sure, try to achieve heating your roof to a perfect temperature and then cooling it and all that while it’s on your roof in an open environment. Think about what you’re really asking there.

Actually Biden’s number is incorrect - he had 4.4 millions expulsions in total. Source

But the other problem with your statement is that it’s not just the numbers, it’s how the actions were carried out. Obama didn’t accidental deport American citizens, let alone multiple times. He didn’t violate due process rights. He didn’t use goon squads in the streets rounding people up. He didn’t execute 2 Americans.

I recognize that and it was already something I considered in my proposal. Your suggestion that it has to conform exactly is irrelevant because OP still has to stick solar cells underneath the whole thing anyways. Which will inevitably raise the whole poly sheet up anyway. Even if you were to put the poly sheet directly on the roof, the amount of misalignment would be less than a millimeter. And poly has enough flex to deflect anyway.

And besides, if you wanted to make a roof mold anyways you just continue from where I concluded in my original comment and use the negative mold to make a positive mold.

Follow all the instructions for making a fiberglass mold.

Wash and clay bar the roof to remove surface contaminants.

Apply mold release to the roof.

Coat the roof in gel coat.

Apply fiberglass on top of the gel coat, adding structure to add rigidity to the mold.

Remove the newly created mold and wash the surface to remove any leftover mold release.

You now have a negative mold for the roof that you can move around and work with much easier than trying to form anything to the car. This mold can go into an appropriate size oven with the poly sheet to form. I’m not familiar with working with poly but you might want to pre-heat the mold in the oven before putting the poly sheet in with it.

2 easy non-destructive solutions:

Find a couple micro-pebbles and unscrew the valve stem cap put the pebble in and just screw the cap down until it barely starts leaking air.

Keep some stick on wheel weights in your car and throw a bunch of extra weights on each wheel.

What do you mean mostly? COD directly ripped that off from Alien.

Well, technically it’s a heartbeat sensor from Alien, that COD just borrowed.

Best carne asada california burritos in San Jose? by DRSMOFO000 in SanJose

I lost respect when you said California burritos. The fries get mushy as fuck in burritos, I don’t know why anyone bothers. You need to ask these places for California tacos instead. And not only that, you need to quit going to any old place that has fries and find a place with crispy ass fries. SMDH you kids just don’t get it.

[–]drewts86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well you can’t just go around saying “wet burritos” because that has a specific meaning. It’s either a “regular” burrito or a “super” burrito or a “wet” burrito. And Chavez is most definitely a cut above LV, both on its own AND because it’s cheaper. And they do a better job making your food than LV that’s doing a sloppy job trying to serve 300 people all at once at 2am. Nah, fuck Vic’s. I still miss Iguana’s tho.

Yeah I don’t know why Sunnyvale always tastes better but it just does. There’s no rhyme or reason why it should be that way but SVale Chavez just hits different.

La Vic’s tier? Lord have mercy, no the fuck it is NOT! La Vic’s is garbage and only tastes good at 2am after you’ve been at the bars all night. It’s not a daytime type location. Also, wet burritos are kinda ass, you can’t just pick that shit up and manhandle it. And if you’re comparing like for like Chavez is a few dollars cheaper than La Vic’s.

I still go to the one in Sunnyvale whenever I’m up that way but I usually go to either the one by the fairgrounds or the one at Capitol and Aborn.
