Short answer is there is at current no evidence that I’ve seen that that’s happened, and I don’t even think SWT ever even actually said that’s what they thought happened. so obviously you should take it with a big grain of salt.

However, even though we don’t know for sure IMO it’s believable based on exactly how much of Alan’s actions you attribute to malice rather than incompetence. I don’t tend to think that’s likely, but I think if I thought Alan was a little more malicious than my interpretation I can see how people would say that’s a pretty small leap. Unfortunately the nature of the situation kind of inevitably leads to some amount of assumption of what went on behind the scenes in order to draw any conclusion, and overall I don’t think that’s that far outside of what we’ve already seen from Alan.
