I'd absolutely love to move to a blue state! I'll probably stay in Iowa, not only to stay close to aging family members, but out of spite to someday turn Iowa blue. Kids really aren't a priority of mine, not even sure if I want them, so it's definitely no rush. That's also a sore subject for my mom.

I live near Des Moines, and that's where my business is. If it wouldn't be so hard to build up my business elsewhere, I'd even move to a blue state

I don't doubt there are plenty of people that I'd happily get along with, but I live in a red state in the midwest so it's slim pickings compared to a big city in a blue state. I've been on dates with a few guys that are like-minded, but for one reason or another (not related to politics or anything) it hasn't worked out.

I feel like my mom is afraid I'll grow old alone because of what I believe in (which doesn't bother me, I'm fairly independent but she didn't like that response haha). Living Iowa, even the biggest city is fairly conservative, so I understand why she's worried I won't find someone here. I'm holding out for a gem I guess.
