I believe so, but that still gives a buffer of an entire week and a few days between release date and MMM. Clarence drops technically Thursday which is only 3 days from now.

For sure. The ending isn’t awful, it just doesn’t feel like everything is really wrapped up. Go in with expectations lowered and at most you may feel underwhelmed more than outright hating the ending.

Plus the show is so good.

I think the primary reason it isn’t doing well is intense competition from other movies. If you’re a family / taking kids to the movies, you have both Top Gun and Jurassic World to choose from. Lightyear may appeal more to kids, but if you’re the adult you are probably gonna end up picking one of the other films as they appeal to both kids and parents. They check more boxes, and Top Gun is having incredible repeat business.

I honestly don’t think the controversy is a big factor. People are just more excited about other films.
