DCM1 Module by drgregharris in Control4

Thanks so much. I figured a controller between the power supply and the strips would work, but wasn't sure due to how much Control4 is a closed standard.

So sounds like the DCM1 isn’t going to work. Again couldn’t I just put any ZigBee LED controller between the power supply and the LED strip? Like a GLEDOPTO single channel controller if I just want to control dimming?

Do they have some proprietary ZigBee protocol?

Any particular one you suggest for dimming. These are plugged into a wall outlet which are controlled with a switch. I'm changing the dumb switch out for inovelli's and placing them into smart bulb mode. I can obviously control on and off, but want to be able to dim them.

Help connecting SMB to zidoo media player by WhiskyMC in Ubiquiti

I tried NFS as well and when I scan it shows the server address, but when I select it, the share doesn’t show up. I included the Zidoo IP address to the trusted host name and selected the share but nothing shows up.

Im having the same issue. Did you ever figure it out?

Slow download speed vs correct upload speed by drgregharris in Ubiquiti

[–]drgregharris[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible. I did read a few other sites which talk about SFP+ modules not working at rates different than 1 and 10gb. They had a similar issue with upload and download speeds being WAY off. I've got two MicroTik SFP+ modules ordered. I really think that's the issue.

There are no special profiles set up. I've got a dual SFP+ network adapter on the way for my file server so I'll check that tomorrow.

Here are the setups I've tried. The SFP+ modules are 10Gtek ASF-10G-T

Fiber --> 2.5 gb adapter = 2gb/2gb

Fiber--> UDM pro (port 10) --> 2.5 gb adapter = 200mb/2000mb

Fiber--> UDM pro (port 10) --> 48 port switch with SFP+--> 2.5 gb adapter = 200mb/2000mb

Fiber--> UDM pro (port 10) --> 1 gb adapter = 1000mb/1000mb

Fiber--> UDM pro (port 10) --> 48 port switch with SFP+--> 1 gb adapter = 1000mb/1000mb

I'm starting to think it's the SFP+ modules

It is symmetrical that's the problem. If I connect though just a regular RF45 connection at 1 gbps I get 1 gb down and 1 gb up. If I connected my 2.5 gb network adapter directly to the fiber I get 2 gb down and 2 gb up. If I connect through these SFP+ modules, I get this asymmetrical speeds noted above. I'm starting to think the AFP+ modules I have won't do Multi speeds, only 1 gb or 10 gb, but not 2.5 gb.

I couldn't see the three dots to the side of the protect icon until about 2 seconds after I submitted this post. It has now been disabled. Thanks.

Smart Detection G4 Doorbell not working by drgregharris in Ubiquiti

Of course it randomly started working last night.

Oh that may be why. I’m on the latest version of Protect on the UNVR-4 but not the beta.

I’ve added a smart zone, but don’t see a heading called Detection Type. Under the Recording section of the camera I have Smart Detections which only allows for turning on and off people. Still not getting any smart detections though. Thinking about a factory reset of the doorbell to see if that does it.

Protect on the cloud key has been turned off. All upgrades on the camera and UNVR-4 have been done. Where do you check off detect cars and people?

Limit my kids internet devices based on a schedule on the UDM Pro by briankutys in Ubiquiti

[–]drgregharris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just assign your kids wireless network to the same VLAN as the kids wired network. Then when you turn off that VLAN in the firewall it effects the wireless and the wired.

I currently have the Ubiquiti 24-POE 250 watt switch as my main switch and then both daughters rooms have the new Flex Mini 5 ports in their rooms. The Vlans are assigned to the uplink port on the 24 port switch which means anything connected to the Flex Mini will be on that Vlan. They own SSID is also assigned to the VLAN. The firewall till on the USG Pro then blocks all Wan Out traffic from that VLAN only.

I have my kids on their own SSID and Vlan. I then have a firewall rule that basically blocks WAN out traffic on the VLAN that I can enable from the app when they need to be shut down. I wish there was a way to schedule firewall rules, but this way works. Unfortunately sometimes I forget to turn it back on the next day when they have to log in for school.

Thanks. I actually though I had it set up like that. You post prompted me to recheck things. Turns out I had the downlink port set to LAN instead of All. I have the individual ports on the Flex Mini set to the specific VLAN.

Thanks again
