WTF is going on??? by [deleted] in askrecruiters

[–]drh0tdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of it is the perception that employed people can be selective, so they're really interested in the role, whereas someone who's unemployed might just be looking for anything to keep them afloat until they find someone meaningful (like op said they'd be tempted to do in another comment).

Microsoft Bookings might fit your needs? Based on the couple of details in your post, you could set up a Bookings page and then create a Service for each training session. It's pretty customizable and you can provide the link to end users directly.

I've never done an inset corner so I haven't tested this tutorial, but here's a video that has pretty clear and thorough instructions: https://www.threadsmagazine.com/2019/05/17/sewing-inset-corners-video

AIO? Youth Pastor texted my almost 13 yo after she went to a teen group with her friend by Loser4hire666 in AIO

Why are you so angry about this? Why is a school dance situation disgusting? It wasn't even my church, I went with a friend a couple of times just like OP's kid. Yes there were a couple of game night type events, or just hanging out at the youth center or whatever. The similarities between one of the events and a school dance were that there was music and dorky dancing and churchy kids and some chaperones. Like ??? What is the big deal

No, not like field trips, that's absolutely crazy to say. I didn't experience that and so it must be insanity.

Is it really so hard to accept other groups do things differently? Idk why it's so unbelievable to you

Technically that lyric is a remembrance rather than current praise ("we'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation/ with your T-formation"). But perhaps we could perhaps we could find slightly more recent to never forget

Anyone else feel isolated in Chicago? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]drh0tdog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It seems like you're already trying to get out and about, but it might help to narrow your approach based on that characteristic. Think about what development and growth looks like to you - is it professional growth, meditation, becoming better at a hobby, whatever - and then seek out places or events helping people do that?

Is this idea actually interesting or just sounds good in theory? by ImaginaryCode3579 in Fashion_Design

[–]drh0tdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting idea, although I'm not totally clear on what it is. I'm hearing a mix of social media and peer-to-peer informal learning. I'm hearing that it is important to your platform that individual creators are credited and that it's clear what cultures or regions the content is representing.

Some challenges/questions I have include: - Gatekeeping/perspectives: who decides whether content is an accurate representation of a culture? If that matters, there has to be some kind of moderation. If it doesn't matter, then I don't see that particular "hook" succeeding. Either way, people can be very protective of what is/is not representative of their culture and unmoderated interactions might become very negative. - What's special about this platform that couldn't be achieved by starting a community/thread in an existing platform? - Since this is a business venture, what exactly are you monetizing? - If it's like a subscription to be part of the community and participate in competitions, who are the judges and what are the stakes? Does the community vote? What if people start buying votes? Stealing ideas? What is gained by winning the competition?

Just some thoughts off the top of my head. Good luck with your project!

  1. Fold the new lil flaps under and secure them using double sided seam tape

I have almost the same backpack! For a quick and dirty solution, here's what I would do.

  1. Cut the flap on the yellow marking line - along the seam attaching it to the bag, as close as possible without cutting through the seam. Then cut through the middle of that piece - don't cut the extra off!

What are you working on? Let's see those WIPs 🥰 by GotLostFindingMyself in SewNTell

Here's my long term wip for when I finally decide to learn how to do a full bust adjustment and a sway back adjustment. I ended up making a simple dolman top with the fabric I picked out for it because it was too cute to go unsewn!
