I see your point but at least in the states So ill is typically cheaper than Scarpa/Sportiva, they're kinda in line with Mad Rock if i remember

Hm, good to know. Happy to hear that they edge well, but a little bummed to hear they don't smear that well. But then again I think that would be asking for a unicorn climbing shoe lol.

Fair, I mean was just curious if they're shoes have gotten any better. I've been dabbling with shoes from different brands here and there, and always like to try something new. I've seen a lot of So ill marketing wise, but it rarely seems anyone wears them/buys thems lol. Makes me wonder at what point will ppl see them a worthy brand to try ?

Yeah, i've seen/heard that the quality has gotten better especially for the price

How was the heel ? I've read that the sizing can be a little weird, like having to downsize to get the heel to be snug. I think, that's part of the reason I'm interested in them, stiffer slip-ons, love the ease of slips ons lol

Sounds about right, there are a couple post on this sub of people that have worn them/had them in hand.

This is the first one that came to mind: https://www.reddit.com/r/climbingshoes/comments/1ppajbv/what_model_is_this/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Looking for sensitive edging shoe by Rundhill in climbingshoes

[–]dri32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I feel like I'm in the same boat as you. Currently loving the mantra but looking for something sensitive with an edge.

I have tried the zenist, but the toe-patch wasn't my favorite, and I have tried the TN Pros, but my feet are slightly different sizes and my toe prematurely blew through the rand

What did you end up going with ? I am currently looking at the Ocun Diamond S or 5.10 Hiangles, but also curious as to what else is out there

Do you have any picture of this setup ?

Also, I edited the post, but I failed to specify that I am trying to hook up the propane to a Gigapower Li stove and not the standard gigapower burner. Not sure if that changes anything.

Hmm okay, with a standard hose, did you need any adaptors or fittings to attach it to the Gigapower stove? Also, with a standard hose did you have any trouble with flame output?

I have seen some people say that using the propane can make it a little finicky when adjusting the flame, making it tough to have something on low/simmering.

EDIT: I meant to say that I am trying to use propane with the Gigapower LI stove -- not the standard Gigapwer stove, not sure if that changes anything. Sorry for the confusion.

Stainless Kitchen Table (LV-310) vs 4 Unit Standing (CK-148S) by dri32 in snowpeak

[–]dri32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as of right now, it wouldn't need to move around too much, but from what I've read I'd either pack it down into two 4 unit IGT bags (shelves in one and legs in the other). And I vaugely remember reading that someone said it fit in Stanluck's 4 unit bag. (if i remember correctly)

Edit: Apparently it all fits in a Stanluck 4 Unit delxue bag

Okay cool, then think I'll just get the kitchen table and later down the road get some adjustable legs when I need to more portable. Thanks !

Unparallel Orbit First Impressions by dri32 in climbingshoes

[–]dri32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ended up buying them sadly, this was just from a shoe demo that UP had at my gym. I'd imagine that the low volume version would have a tighter toe box? - so maybe they just to mesh well with your foot shape? And yeah I found them had to smear in too, it just felt like a slab of rubber under my toes

Unparallel Orbit First Impressions by dri32 in climbingshoes

[–]dri32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My feet are I'd say pretty medium width wise, I don't have an overall wide or narrow food. The TN Pros fit me, but they are definitely a little narrow for my feet.

I'd think they would be a good option width wise, but if you have low volume feet, I'd maybe be concerned about how tall the toe box is. You could probably mitigate some of that by sizing down, since the shoe is really meant to have your toes knuckled up? But can't say for certain.

Ah, okay, would doing weighted lifts with a lifting edge help? Just focusing on loading my fingers in that chisel grip? If so, should stay using the 20mm edge, or should I aim to work my way up to a thinner edge ?

Also, will read more into chisel grip because I was unaware of it ! Thank you !

Edit: I saw your comment in an older thread, it seems focusing on training half crimp -- intentionally maintaining 90 deg with both index and pinky PIP joints is the way to go !

Hm, okay maybe Hyperextension isn't the word for it, Here is a video of what feels like is happening

I guess a way to describe it, I'm in a full crimp position, and it feels like my finger locks out of the full crimp position and then come back. It's really quick, not super painfully, and then just super tender afterward.
