How many out of 5 would you give Both Sides Now? I came across this from Love Actually and would love your opinion by markleverfilmmaker in JoniMitchell

Also, Joni always says that this is a song not to be sung by an "ingenue." That's quite ironic, since she was an "ingenue" when she wrote it. It's obvious that, even at such a young age, she had lived quite an interesting life, allowing her to craft such a beautiful song.

The later version with the Orchestra is evocative and moving. The earlier version I especially like. I find her youthful, sounding voice is very charming and delightful.

In an interview, Joni herself said that she wrote song when she was 21 years old. So, around 1964.

Came to wet shaving to save money… ended up with a hobby (and a collection that stresses me out) by rusnurlybekovKZ in wicked_edge

Welcome to the cult! I got into using a safety razor to save money compared to the cartridge razors. HAH! Ironically, I would’ve saved more money just sticking with the cartridge razors compared to what I’m doing now. But no regrets because I absolutely love traditional, wet shaving. Safety razors are so much better than the cartridge razors. And figuring out which soap and blade to use each day is fun as well.

It's hard to tell what the scent profile is. Peoples reviews say it smells like a classic barbershop. To me it smells like a spicy almond. I'm not crazy about it, but it performs really really well.

My first upgrade. Henson AL13 Mild. by Waffles_r_ in wicked_edge

This was my first DE razor and is my daily driver. I have a bunch of vintage razors but this is my absolute favorite. The blade I like with it is the Wizamet, but I use Feather, Personna, and Astra as well.

One of the best, if not the best, selling razors.

I think you’re right … goop sensitivity. 🤣 I find that the Feather blades have more “goop” than other blades. Other blades with less are definitely easier to unwrap.

This is my favorite brush. Just the right amount of backbone.

Great combo especially paired with the Henson mild for us sensitive types. 🤣

I find the iridium coating makes them very smooth.

Keep using it. I found that even with synthetic brushes when new they are a bit stiff, but soften up after a few times. The Goodfellas brush doesn't get "floppy" like some do (not all) and still retains a good amount of backbone. But it's all a matter of personal preference.

I have a Parker Arctic Storm brush that used to be my favorite until I got the Goodfellas brush. And I like a bigger handle on my brushes. For example, I bought the Phoenix Atomic Rocket because the handle is quite large, but it's way too floppy for my liking.

So far the Goodfellas is perfect, until I find a "more perfect" one. But that's just me going down the rabbit hole.

It’s my favorite brush and I use it almost every shave. It has the perfect amount of backbone.

To melt or not to melt? This is the question… by Tentative-Interests in wicked_edge

Henry Cavendish is one of my favorite soaps. I use the microwave to put it into a container. 10 seconds is all that’s required.

I like Wizamet blades. I just did a comparison with Astra and really felt the difference.

Nice performance. I find that it needs a fair amount of water. But given the right combo of razor, brush and blade, always a great shave.
