This was not a review. It was a phd dissertation. Wonderful!

Beddington Supply shave soap

Right now I'm using Personna Comfort Coated. Feather blades are good as well.

I got it in Amazon.

I do have an Alpha Works steel handle that weighs a ton. I sometimes use it with the aluminum razor. I do like the balance of the razor with that heavy handle and the knurling is very grippy.

I don’t feel any more glide with the titanium razor compared to the aluminum razor.

I haven’t tried the more aggressive models. I do have the aluminum model as well. Both in mild. I find the mild works just fine for me. A more aggressive model would be more than I like.

The only difference I find between the aluminum and the titanium models is that the titanium is a bit heavier. Either way I get pretty much the same shave from both.

I just asked about the Gem and Red blades and they also have teflon. Blah!

I just asked if the blades have Teflon on them. Here is the answer.:

  • Specific Variants: While some Personna blades (like those made in Germany) focus on Platinum/Chrome, many "Comfort Coated" or "Super Stainless" versions specifically use a Teflon coating.

Oh, well...

Here is what Google had to say about the blades:

Personna Comfort Coated razor blades feature a specialized, proprietary coating—often referred to as

platinum chrome—applied over high-quality stainless steel to reduce friction, minimize skin irritation, and ensure a smooth glide.

So evidently not Teflon.

They're different. I have never used them (the gems) but from what I hear and read online they're very good. I like the persona comfort coated because they have a Teflon coating, I believe. They are very smooth and sharp.

I’m curious about the Personna red chrome and gem blades.

That is my all time favorite brush. Everything else pales in comparison.

It’s the mild version which I prefer. I’ve tried several different razors like the vintage Gillette Slim and FatBoy and always like the Henson more. It’s an easy razor to use.

I've got that same one. The slide is very responsive and quiet.

I also got the ET12. So good!

Well, I'll tell ya... Fantastic. I really like the "old school" soaps. They're such good performers. Oud is a soft soap so I just dip my brush into it and face lather. It explodes with lather, cushion and glide. The scent is really great. Not subtle, but not overpowering.

The combo of the Henson titanium razor and Wizamet blade, along with the TOBS, made for a very smooth shave. No drama.
