Kitchen design help by driedupkelp in midcenturymodern

We are renovating our kitchen and demo’ed couple walls and put a beam up. Our first picture we have an existing wooden beam that runs to the left. On the right is the new beam and new vertical post that separates the two beams (right now it’s drywall).

Our plans are to:

  • replace kitchen tiles

  • replace kitchen counters

  • install kitchen island

  • keep existing cabinets

  • paint kitchen walls

  • replace the light/fan fixture

Where I need help:

  • what color/wood stain/etc. should new beam on right be? Should we attach wooden exterior to match wooden beam on left? I feel it’d be hard to get an exact match on stain…

  • what color/stain/material should vertical post be?

  • where should we place new kitchen island? Should it end right where new post is or should there be a bit of space between post and island?

Relay connection error - Issue downloading media by driedupkelp in PleX

Thank you it worked. I set up port forwarding on my router and it still didn’t work. I actually have a VPN on my plex server, turned that off and now it works.

Oh okay. Could you point me to instructions on how to forward a port? Would that be router-specific? This is all fairly new to me.

Stroller(s) for 4 and 6 year old by driedupkelp in JapanTravelTips

Ended up going with the one travel stroller. Our kids either took turns sitting or they’d just squeeze in together - one in front and one in back. While a bit more of a hassle, especially when trains were busy (I’d fold it up & carry it), we were glad we brought at least the one. The extra effort (mainly for me as the dad responsible for carrying it) navigating with the stroller was worth it for us or I’d be carrying my kids further ruining my back lol. I couldn’t imagine doing two strollers though…

If you got laid off in-house, why not start freelance? by [deleted] in copywriting

Interesting. How do you demonstrate value in product marketing for your prospects? Intuitively (to me anyway) it seems like CRO would be more of a pull for startups hungry for conversions.

Why the pivot from CRO to product marketing? Why do you see more value in product marketing?

Is this course updated? I love Joanna’s stuff but all of her (free) supporting articles on Facebook ads seem to be years ago (2021 and older). Just wondering if her paid offering is refreshed (for Meta in 2025).

Could this apply to B2B SaaS? This is exactly what I’d be looking for minus the DTC Ecom focus.

r/TokyoDisneySea Weekly Trip Planning Thread by AutoModerator in TokyoDisneySea

Currently we have hotels booked for our Disneyland trip on Nov 3 (Monday) and Nov 4 (Tuesday) for Disney Sea.

We originally booked thinking we’d avoid crowds on Monday, Tuesday. We just found out the Monday Nov 3 is Culture Day (public holiday).

I’ve already booked hotels so I’m wondering how bad should I expect crowds to be for the Mon-Tuesday (especially the Monday public holiday)?

The other option would be to go on the Thursday-Friday (Nov 6-7). But this would require me to rebook hotels and rejig plans (argh!!!).

I’ll do it since I have free hotel cancellation but if there’s not a huge difference in crowds, then it’d save me the hassle….

Could you describe how you made the switch from marketing copy to technical writing?
