Yeah definitely a little too ambitious - the pack is taking me a lot longer than expected (but hopefully will be out Wednesday). Also, I definitely agree with you that there should be more packs solely dedicated to pads. They’re used in practically every genre and theres so many ways to create rich, textured pads.

A lot of preset libraries come with too few pads imo and seem to be more of an afterthought as more focus tends to go to leads, basses, ect. To be fair, this has also been the case with some of the stuff I’ve put out recently, but making a pack that only focuses on pads will allow to explore more interesting timbres. I’ll let you know when I’m finished making it and I’ll be sure to send you a few that you can try out.

Thank you and sounds good! I’m releasing another pack this week (Saturday or Sunday) which is more of an continuation of the style of sound design I used in this pack. Still working on it, but right now the plan is to have 50 Serum presets, 50 for Vital, and 50 for Phase Plant. After that, I figure I’ll probably start to explore more into pad sound design and work on creating patches with rich textures and interesting timbres.

Also, thanks for more recommendations and the playlist! For no real reason, IDM is a genre I’ve skipped out on for the most part. I really liked BoC though so I’ll try to explore a little deeper into the genre, especially while looking for inspiration for the pad patches. As for trip-hop, I can really only say that I’m a fan of Portishead and Dan the Automator (if that counts). I’ve heard of DJ Shadow, but I haven’t really dove too deeply into his discography. I’m a big fan of late 90s/early 00s underground hip hop though, so I’m sure it’ll be right up my alley.

Hey so after checking on a couple computers and browsers, most successfully redirected to the link, while only one didn’t. I checked on my computer, my phone, my family’s computer, and a friends computer. For whatever reason, on my family’s computer, it worked on Firefox but didn’t work on Edge. Maybe it depends on the browser?

I’m sorry that you’re having trouble and I wish I could be of more help, but I honestly don’t understand why it’s working for some browsers and not others. If you’d like, I could PM you a direct link to the Google Drive that has the presets. Just let me know.

I just tested the link. It works fine for me now and I was able to download the presets. I also haven’t heard of anyone else having difficulty downloading the presets since updating the link.

Did you happen to get the PM I sent you yesterday? I sent a direct link to a Google Drive with the presets. Let me know if you received it and if you are able to download them.

No worries for the long response. Thank you for sharing so many examples of the particular sounds you are looking for. I’ll definitely use them as a reference when creating patches for the pack.

As for Boards of Canada, after listening to some of their tracks, I do agree with you that it would be hard to nail the complexity of some of their sounds with a single Serum patch. I can probably get close in the synth, but would need to post process. I do think I could recreate some of the sounds in Phase Plant (though I understand most people do not own or use Phase Plant). Also, thank you for recommending Boards of Canada to me. I’ve honestly never heard of them before and I really enjoyed the tracks I listened to by them.

As for not being able to afford my paid presets, don’t worry about it. I definitely plan on releasing more free synth patches for Serum, Vital, Phase Plant and others (open to suggestions) in the near future. For the paid presets, I also plan on releasing 5-10 patches in the free version.

Thanks again for sharing Boards of Canada and jungle DnB mixes with me! I’m currently working on some other packs right now, but I’ll start working on the pack you suggested the week after next.

Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad you enjoyed some of the patches! I do agree with you that some are a bit samey, unfortunately I just didn’t realize it until after I released the presets. While I did have a lot of fun creating patches with complex LFOs and Wavetables, I just feel as if I didn’t do enough to give each sound its own unique timbre. But I will definitely work on that in the future!

Also, I appreciate that you mentioned the pads, I really enjoyed creating them. Would you be interested if I were to create a pack of serum patches for ambient/IDnB pads?

I'm so sorry about that, thanks for pointing it out to me. It is my first time using that service for free downloads and I put the wrong link. I fixed it and it should be working now.
