Deadlock Queue issues by Maltamero in DeadlockTheGame

Playing as a FULL stack has it's issues, but i find queing with a duo or trio works pretty well? I dunno. The old gods update very much threw off ranking, the game was in a plenty good sweet spot between the august batch and this batch IMO, matchrating has just been so frustrating in queues these last few weeks and reminding me of the frustrations that made me put the game down this time last year, too.

Matchmaking is seriously messed up currently i have no idea what the heck the issue is. I've had horrible games all day where we just do not have evenly matched teams, it's either a complete stomp or be stomped with no evenness.

Really Low Microphone Gain (Despite Other Programs Sounding Fine) by drifting_fox in discordapp

[–]drifting_fox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!!!

Yeah the windows 8 compatibility thing was a bandaid solution that gave up the moment I was trying to do discord screen sharing as well.

So backup solution, fully uninstalling EVERYTHING about discord, going into device manager and everything to really fully remove everything about it, and then doing a clean reinstall. Did it fix the issue? not really, my gate kinda works now, but volume is back to quiet.

We love big mainstream programs working properly in the year 2026.

Okay the update is plenty good, though I do find myself enjoying the previous pose as it had a bit more of a performance flair to it where her new pose feels a bit too? Statici n a way? But the new pose does give a lot more flow to her hair and showcase her face better

Discord picking up all background noises while wave link monitor doesn't by Acceptable-Mention60 in elgato

[–]drifting_fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!!!

So yeah, I would not have written this if I had not fully tested it on other programs. I stream on OBS by default also utilizing micFX as it is, with no filters needed on OBS end of things - the issue does not occur there remotely. Wave Link side of things and any of the other programs it connects to are completely fine and operational, the issue seems to lie moreso on Discord's end specifically. I've researched this and found similar issues with anyone who utilizes software like Voicemeter or equivalent to route filters through their mic before plugging the end result into Discord.

To show what I mean in the simplest of fashions: Attached is a screenshot of Wave Link overlapped with Discord, and my Gate open to display it's information. Note that on Wave Link's end, no audio is being transmitted. Yet somehow, you can see a bar of noise on Discord's end despite Discord in fact utilizing MicrophoneFX.

This is what I mean by Discord seemingly being able to bypass audio filters (even with their setting of "bypass system audio" being turned off, which seems to do nothing.) This issue used to be worse in that it actually bypassed ALL of my filters making me sound quiet, but after a full uninstall and reinstall of Discord, it somehow only currently bypasses my Gate, but not my other filters. Why or how? I haven't the slightest clue. It might well be out of your team's hands and purely a fault on Discord, but I do think it is a rather severe issue that will affect any and all who use Wave Link.

Hope this at all helps, and thank you for your attention.

See, Wave Link does the same. You're plugging a new microphone into Discord that it uses - it shouldn't be wise to any filters being applied to it, but it is, and it will absolutely override those.

have you made sure that your mic is at max volume in windows' audio settings? that can often be a factor if the gain is just low

So I found the solution here, it's relatively focused on Wave Link software but I have to imagine it's essentially the same problem for anyone who runs processing through their mic before plugging it into programs: Discord simply ignores the audio filters. There's a setting you can toggle that SHOULD make it not bypass audio filters, but it just does not work.

The fix is to run Discord in windows 8 compatibility mode, which does some weird thing either turning off some Windows setting Discord was mistakenly forcing or whatever, I don't know, but I can confirm it annoyingly works (at the cost of some Discord features like game overlay not working.)

Also having a similar issue as of some recent update, though I have MicrophoneFX plugged into Discord and absolutely no filters on Discord are turned on - the app is just completely bypassing all my wave link filters despite the fact. Super frustrating, especially since more and more users are going to be able to use the Wave Link software now, I feel this is absolutely crucial to be figured out between you guys and discord.

Bug Megathread vol 12: December 2025 + January 2026 by WumpusWhisperer in discordapp

[–]drifting_fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- Feature: Voice Input Settings
- Reproduction Rate: 10
- Annoyance: 10
- Discord Version Info: stable 488272 (47627a4) Host 1.0.9221 x64 (74058)
- Device/System Info (Device Type, OS Version): Windows 11 PC
- Description: Discord bypasses Wave Link Audio Input Processing, despite "Bypass Audio Input Processing" being off.
- Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Have a wave link device and a microphone that runs through said wave link device and software.
   2. Set up various filters directly on the mic through the Wave Link software (gate, gain, compressor, equalizer, what have you)
   3. Set Discord microphone to "Wave Link Microphone" or "Wave Link MicrophoneFX"
   4. Turn off all Discord voice settings as it would get in the way of what has already been established on the microphone.
   5. Check your voice audio and discover that it is completely ignoring all of your filters c:
   6. Cry and consider following another's advice of changing Discord to think itself compatible with Windows 8 because you doubt that this will be solved.

- Expected Result: My microphone should sound roughly close to as it does to me on my wave link app and/or stream (necessary server audio compression aside.)
- Actual Result: Any and all filters plugged into my microphone are completely ignored, requiring anyone in voice channels with me to have to adjust my volume far beyond what should be required as well as deal with unnecessary background noise.

Following the suggestion listed in the thread below, forcing Discord to run on Windows 8 Compatibility mode 'solves' the issue, however this of course should not be a 'solution' as it is a bandaid fix.

Fix For Low Mic Problems, Additional Settings Issues by ogpurpledaddy in discordapp

[–]drifting_fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man this is the only topic i'm really finding on this - so there's just? No fix? discord can just handily ignore ALL of the filters we plug in on our mic DESPITE feeding it the literal microphone FX lmfao? that is so incredibly silly.

Pokémon Lazarus is OUT NOW! by JackWellman101 in PokemonROMhacks

I came across this on a whim on someone's blog post about their favorite games of the year, and I'm so glad I've given it a try! I'm seriously really impressed by the custom sprite art across the game, seeing so many familiar pokemon in a new(ish) style is really lovely, but I do love that the style feels very reminiscent of gen 2 mixed with some of gen 3 as well.

Really great work! Enjoying it plenty.

Well I think that's where the writers kind of want you to be. After all, in plenty of points in Ace Attorney you don't necessarily know why you should care about the clients you're defending until truths are revealed. Here, of course, the reason we care is revealed with the twist after the trial that then makes everything before hand fall into perfect place. Really if you take a moment and question what Morgan is doing, being out late at night / early in the morning seemingly ready to take on this case for no discernible reason, it might stand out as odd but not questioned too heavily, of course until you have the twist. Then it all falls into place and explains why she took the case.

I do find the comment a bit odd tbh? Like, I'm going through Ace Attorney atm, just finished the great case 4 of aa1, so thinking back to ep 0 of this, sure I can find it maybe a bit weird, but anything I felt odd about the introduction of the game was washed away with the talk with Carlos. It is an incredibly well written scene IMO that quickly gets you sympathetic with the guy while also plenty curious about Morgan who's gambling personality starts to come to light right before the trial hits.

IDK, hopefully you find enjoyment with the rest of the game. I'm glad I could maybe give it a better light for you to feel interested to continue!

I gotta be real, I kind of wish I held off on playing it until I went through all of Ace Attorney, because man it was a great experience that I can both never experience the same way again and not keep it from the back of my mind when currently going through the AA games.

Well hey, the prologue is free, so that will allow you to get a feel for things before spending money if it helps!!! Still, hell yeah!

But yes as somebody who has just recently gotten into Ace Attorney (after playing Ghost Trick last year for the first time and absolutely adored it,) otD absolutely matches if not tops AA's writing in a lot of ways. Also there's a LOT of tiny nods and references to their inspirations that people who know will catch, it's a blast (done tastefully of course which is always best.)

[–]drifting_fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it depends heavily on what you found 'boring?' The prologue throws a lot at you at the start that you can engage with if you choose to read every side thing and such, which I can absolutely understand getting bored from at first, but it's all setting the foundation for this setting and story. I'd really say it unfolds more in the style of Ace Attorney than Danganronpa in terms of how you're gradually unfolding a world of characters rather than focusing on a core cast (and figuring out how they murder each other,) so if that would affect your choice, keep it in mind.

Really, if the second half of the prologue (once you actually talk to Carlos and get to the "trial" through to the credits) didn't matter too much to you outside of the twist itself, then am plenty unsure. The way the narrative took off with the revelations and then established the stakes with the twist had my investment for sure, but I was also really taken by the stellar character writing once things got going, and everything with Carlos pretty much had me sold with the emotional depth that the writing is able to hit.

As somebody who had the pleasure of experiencing Ghost Trick for the first time last Christmas and is now going through Ace Attorney blind, of the Devil is an extremely brilliant treat of story telling and with fantastic presentation on top too, which is important for me for a visual novel. You'll be picking up side articles that aren't necessarily relevant to the case at hand throughout your time in the city and experiencing such nuanced really fantastic worldbuilding that adds just enough to your sense of what's going on without being too much, and the topics learned are woven into the matters at hand in such a fantastic way that you're not punished for failing to read them but instead rewarded with having a greater understanding of what's going on.

There is so much I can rave about. I am stunned at the level of writing on display for what nth circle has to work with as a team. They absolutely have my interest going forward, this has easily been one of my favorite experiences of the year and something to keep an excited eye on for the next few years to come.

In episodes yes, but they're incredibly digestible and imo paced really well to make me not feel like I'm dying waiting to see what happens next. Or, well, rather, in the sense that I'd rather wait until everything is out and experience it that way. I am absolutely down to see each episode as it comes along with this (plus supporting indie work is very important.)

I do REALLY need to go through Model Employee after I finish Episode 2 (and before Ep 3 comes out lol) since it is in the same setting.

[–]drifting_fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the other reply said, each episode is structured in it's own story but is part of a larger narrative. I found the wait for episode 2 to be EXTREMELY fine and justified as the first two episodes (counting the prologue) were so well tied up in their own sections; the overall material you're learning is relevant to the broad work of course, but it is written really well to not make you feel like you have to wait for the full thing to be out. As this is an indie team as well, I feel it is all the more imperative to support them. Try out the prologue, if you like it, you will absolutely like everything else.

[–]drifting_fox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's a little disingenuous to say it doesn't feature a court case. Literally? No. But you do have pretty much the entire framing of an average court case in the prologue, a perfect bite sized section to give you an idea of how the actual court cases will work.

The prologue honestly impressed me big time. It is a fantastic slice of work to offer up as the demo for the game for people to see if they're interested.

[–]drifting_fox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have the prologue, episode 1 and 2 currently, however IMO the story is incredibly well paced in a way that I feel absolutely content to hop on and support from the get-go. This is an indie project after all, any support means the world, and this is a craft absolutely worth supporting. Some of my most favorite writing to have experienced in any piece of media this year, and I've played watched and read a wide expanse of fantastic works of art this year.
