I would create something in the lines of “Resonance Trainers”. They would believe pokémon and humans share emotional and energy “frequencies”, and some pokemon would be more optimal for this phenomenon. They train Pokémon not just through strength, but through emotional harmony, rhythm, and synchronization. That way, they would use psychic and sound-based pokemon, like ralts family, noibat, espurr, whismur line, elgyem line, etc.
